I called Graham (who makes CelluCotton). Here's what I discovered.
#44040 = 3.917lbs = 12000ft
#44043 = 3.497lbs = roughly 900ft (give or take)
...all in all, there's enough CelluCotton (Rayon) in all the boxes to last to the end of time. You only need about 3inches (IF THAT) cut off at any given time -- which will give you about 8 fairly sized wicks.
If you use 3 inches at a time, per cut.
3x4 = 12inches. Which is a Foot.
Estimates to 28 wicks per foot.
28x900 = 28,800 wicks (#44043)
28x1200 = 38,400 wicks (#44040)
If you used 2 inches at a time, per cut.
2x6 = 12inches. Which is a Foot
Estimates to 48 wicks per foot.
48x900 = 43,200 wicks (#44043)
28x1200 = 57,600 wicks (#44040)
If you used 1 inch at a time, per cut.
1x12 = 12 inches. Which is a Foot.
Estimate to 96 wicks per foot.
96x900 = 86,400 wicks (#44043)
28x1200 = 115,200 wicks (#44040)
...Folks, that's a hell of a lot of wicking!
NOTE: My estimates were based on a 5/64 drill bit Coil. If you use a 1/16 Coil, then you'll definitely get more wicks. This is only an estimation.
