Vegas Vapefest a joke

For any of you that think you missed out . You really just saved some money , and a lot of frustration . The organizers of this event , with any luck , and the grace of God , go out of the promotion business forever . It was not very well organized (at all ) . Maybe a dozen vendors , (no show specials ) to speak of . Door prizes , were a joke . When I got there (The Flamingo Hotel & Casino ) none of the hotel personel , had any idea , what I was talking about . No sign , no directions , nothing that indicated you were even in the right place . Then after finding it on my own , It was stuck away , on a nondescript floor and room , with no sign , or banner "VapeFest" to be found . As I only live 15 minutes away , I only wasted one afternoon . I genuinely feel sorry for the patrons , and even the vendors that made the trip across the country , for nothing . Maybe they can enjoy a buffet , or do some gambling . They might as well , as they have already thrown a good portion of their hard earned cash , out the window .

As I live in Tucson (about 8 hours drive from Vegas) I considered going... Just to meet some in the vaping community. I trust what Ren and Jen have posted. Perhaps in the future there will be an event held in Vegas that will legitimately be as it was billed. I count myself lucky for having not went. 16 hours round trip on a weekend for a 'dud' event would have really ...... me off. Would have enjoyed meeting up with Ren and Jen... Perhaps next time (if there is one).

Well, a bit late to the party but here's my skinny. I live in Hawaii and to have something like that, whether 50 people or just 5 people attend would have been cool to just do the meet and greet thing. I would be happy to be able to just hop in the car with some vapingbuddies just for the road trip alone would have been a blast. Maybe people expected too much of this event. Although there are at least a million of us vapers out there, this is I feel, we are still an underground movement. At least you folks in the mainland have that choice to drive up there, in the islands, we don't. I still can hang out at the local shops and talk shop with fellow and potential vapers. Not hating just shedding some light. If the event sucked it sucked. Just take it as a learning experience so that the next one would not be a total disaster. So let's focus on Vaporcon and try not to let it suck and use it as a celebration of ex smokers becoming vapers and enhancing the quality of their lives. Maybe with all the mistakes being learned, the next Vapefest would be a better experience. So let's be united on this thought at least. These words are coming from a deprived lunatic that would just like the opportunity to attend and meet the people on this forum and maybe the vendors and YouTube personalities that we all have grown to love in our vaping lives. I guess the bottom line is that I would love to go to some of these mega meets if I could, so consider yourselves lucky. I may live in paradise, but feel a little isolated at times. Aloha from the 808 State.
