Why no Tube 21700 Regulated Mods?

One of the biggest problems as you've outlined is the TC and or TFR of materials, as metal alloys are not necessarily the same and these vary wildly because of their composition.

Resistitherm is the only wire I know of with a known TC and TFR that you can source easily.

I did try using Titanum myself at one point for TC vaping, but I just couldn't work with it as any coil I'd try making wanted to unwind on me.

All/most wire types have known TCR values however some of the 'alloy' metals (like SS types) varied considerably depending on the manufacturer.

SS430 has one of the highest (of the SS variants) that I know of however the '100 spool I bought in 2014 mostly goes unused as I found better wire to use.

TI is indeed a bit "springy" however many don't use it because of the oxides that form (that is easily washed away) if it is overheated

I've used TI in 24-36AWG. Some gauges are easier to work with than others.

NI has one of the best/highest TCR values however is not only to soft for many to work with but to low of a resistance (difficult to fit/build a coil) and many don't use it because of possible exposure to oxides

NiFe in a number of different flavors (30/48/52 come to mind) has a decent TCR's and little (if any) is known about any 'issues' with using it

There are many other wire types that COULD be used for TC vaping but for the overwhelming majority of vapors they may simply try whatever SS coil they currently have in TC mode and when the experience is not to their liking (or not very good as not many mods can't TC regulate SS properly) they switch back to power mode and write the mode off.

Why no Tube 21700 Regulated Mods?

Like you I stocked up on Pico 75's, Squeeze 2's and Pico S 21700's. I am also running Arctic Fox on them. I think Eleaf did an excellent job designing the Pico's. My first Pico 75w is still going strong. The body is beat-up but that's to be expected for a mod from 2015/16.

My wife was always dropping her Pico 75's and they just continued working. She would drop them in the snow, on concrete, gravel and in the mud while gardening. Eleaf could have hired her to do extreme mod testing.
My only issue with the original Pico is the dis-similar metals on the body+battery cap get corroded and often cause device failure at the worse possible moments (like driving in traffic!! LOL!!)

IMHO: good+inexpensive+reliable+quality vape and many parts of the world can still order many them direct from E-Leaf for a 'song'. :)

(I've knocked my Pico21700 off my bedside table onto a hardwood floor more times than I can count - it takes a fall and keeps on working (even if it now 'rattles' if I shake it! LOL!))

Quick Review of Cyborg Quest after 3.5 months. AVOID!

Hey, Vaporesso make reasonable mods. Still got my Switcher at one side for just in case.

My SMOK procolour didn't last a month before the board started to fail, so I don't have a good opinion of them and now avoid.

Geekvape, never used any. But folks seem to like them and they seem to be reasonably well made.

But I'm glad to hear that you've got it working, to properly sort it the board probably needs ultrasonic cleaning with solution of distilled water and isopropyl alcohol. Then putting some form of conformal coating to proof it against liquids.

I can't believe they skimped on that though.
Yeah narrowed it down gonna get the Smok Fortis. Looks like a nice little device for my use

What are your favorite tips for vaping beginners?

For anyone just getting into vaping, what products would you recommend or what tips and would you give for those just getting started?
#1 if you ARE NOT a current or almost former smoker just DON'T!!

While vaping is considered in some parts of the world 'less harmful' then smoking it is still harmful! Vaping IS NOT healthy!

#2 Keep in mind the 'KISS' principal (keep it simple stupid)

Don't over think it and don't over spend on it.

#3 As far as juice goes find a flavor that you ether like or can tolerate

In some areas you can SAMPLE the juices before purchasing and others you can't. If you can't sample then get small amounts FIRST before plunking a bunch of $$$ on larger containers.

Some like getting 'tobacco' flavors while the majority go for ANYTHING BUT a tobacco flavor.

You'll need ~30ml of juice a week to get started and 18-50mg nicotine level.
(18mg freebase or 35-50mg salts)

#4 Mod/Device

Here there are a number of options however there are a few recommendations that come to mind.

Something that is refillable is less expensive and more usable in the long run than something that is not.

Mods that have replaceable battery(s) are more expensive upfront however can have a longer use life than mods that have internal batteries.

Not all mods that have internal (non-replaceable) batteries are created equal - some will allow you to vape while the device is charging (some call it "pass through vaping") which is a very desirable feature.

Speaking of mods and battery charging, weather your mod has internal battery or replaceable battery you NEED a way to vape while the device/battery is CHARGING! This is often accomplished by having TWO devices! (one charging while the other is in use) The added BONUS here is that you have a backup device in case of mod/atomizer failure. :)

While IDK what smokes cost these days but when I started vaping spending 1-2 weeks worth of smoking $$$ on a vape kit+juice seemed reasonable to me.

#5 Last but not least - don't give up!

It might take a few days or weeks for you to change over to vaping. Personally it took me only 3 days to convert over to only vaping. Everyone is different so don't give up hope of being smoke free.

Random DIY mixing and More

New review time. I'm officially caught up on reviews now.

Good review as always.

I have to make sure it is chicken or fish because he is the one that cannot eat animals that have hair. That is still just so weird to me.
Yep! That's weird, alright. For myself, I sensibly eat nothing with less than two legs, nor more than four.

Why no Tube 21700 Regulated Mods?

This is an Ehpro Armor. It uses one 2x700 or one 18650 battery. It is a 'regulated mech'. It has one button, and one LED that emits thru two holes. I've had it and been very pleased with it for close to about 3 or 4 years now. I got it from fasttech, but I guess the manufacturer would be a place to start looking if you want.
I had one of those for a while. Bright red. Nice mod but after around 6 months it auto-fired on me. Couldn't figure out the problem so I had to dump it.
