Tormento by APV - Review by Ben28

Tormento by Alquimia Para Vapers (APV) is the second e-liquid from this brand, and I was just as fascinated as with the last one. Today I'm reviewing a "taba-dessert", a blend of vanilla, nuts, milk, coconut, chocolate, and, of course, tobacco. Thanks to Vapeo24 for making this review possible.

According to the brand: Delicate vanilla with toasted nuts, creamy fresh milk, juicy coconut, delicious chocolate shavings, and a final touch of sweet tobacco... an elaborate formula crafted with attention to detail.

Remember that this e-liquid is sold as a 20mL flavor concentrate and must be mixed with base and nicotine, following the manufacturer's instructions and dilution percentage.

Let's move on to the smell test to see what we discover. My first impressions are very strong notes of chocolate. I can clearly detect the dryness of the nuts, although I can't pinpoint which ones they are. I can also perceive a slight alcoholic note, probably due to the vanilla, which always reminds me of that. In the background, after the initial sniff, I can notice slight notes of tobacco, although I believe it's more focused on the sweet side. The milk and coconut, I think, are notes that provide a different sensation to the smell and flavor, more focused on juiciness and nuances that don't fall into those two categories.

Now for the flavor. On the inhale, I notice a good throat hit and the dryness of the nuts, but not their flavor as such. I can also taste that chocolate, a pure chocolate, no milk blends. I also clearly perceive the tobacco base, very subtle, very soft. I can't perceive the coconut, milk, and vanilla as distinct flavors, but I believe they help to soften the liquid's dryness above all, because without them, this would be a very, very dry e-liquid.

In a nutshell, it's a very smooth e-liquid; its sweetness isn't cloying at all, it's very balanced, and it has a very good flavor and throat hit. In my opinion, Delirio stands out more than Tormento, and this might be a little controversial since Tormento is the clear classic and winner for the brand.

ProVarinati Diner & Saloon and Beyond

Hello DP,
Aside from no one from support responding which is disappointing, no I was not getting any notifications,
I have a couple of email addresses. The one I originally used [as best I can recall as it's been years now] does some filtering which I have no control over. And by filtering I mean something more than just sending emails to spam, which I can see. They have/had some algorithmic stuff going on which just blocked and sent stuff to never never land. So, some years ago i stopped getting notifications. I can control the filtering in my other email address, and set it to no filtering at all. And then switched my ECF acct to this email. Worked fine for a long time and then completely stopped all notifications a couple of months ago .
I actually just figured ECF bit the bullet. When I checked the website i discovered it's alive and well. At least alive.
As an experiment, a few days ago I switched back to the first one which filters.
Now I'm getting notifications again. I once was a software engineer so not a complete dumbas, just a partial. A mystery to me, assuming the two email servers haven't changed. Course they might have.

About my Provari tubes, yup they've served me well too.
Just trying to clean house and downsize.
Stay well friend.

Understood, NY, and thanks. Wishing you well too.

Bench Test Results: Tenpower 40XG - 45A/90A 4000mAh 21700 (pre-production?)

These tests only note my personal ESTIMATED ratings for these batteries at the time I tested them. Any battery that is “rewrapped” (not in its original factory wrap) can change at any time! This is one of the hazards of using these batteries so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of property damage, personal injury, or even death. Never use them outside of a fully protected battery pack and you use them at your own risk. Never exceed the battery’s true continuous discharge rating (CDR), never let it get colder than 0°C or hotter than 60°C to help lower the risks and extend cell life, and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition. Never use a battery that is physically damaged in any way.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.

If the battery has only one current rating number, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.

Test Results
These appear to be pre-productions samples (no CCC*** logo) and they are fantastic performers…
  • For the first part of a discharge they are one of the hardest hitting cells we can buy, especially at extreme power levels. Its incredibly low 5mOhm DC IR is probably helping a lot with that.
  • The 40XG performs essentially the same as the EVE40PL, Ampace JP40, and Reliance RS40, check the Ratings & E-Scores tables for the numbers.
  • It can’t compete with the best 5000mAh cells over the entire discharge (none of the 4Ah-4.5Ah cells can) but it’s one of the best 4000mAh-4500mAh cells and competes well down to about 3.2V. If discharging below that cells like the RS50, P50B, and 50PL run for longer at any power level.
  • Its 45A continuous and 90A temp-limited (to 80°C) current ratings seem reasonable.
  • Standard charge rate is 2A and max is 12A. But cycle life will be shortened if you charge any cell quickly. For long cell life I recommend 2A.
  • The 40XG has a spiral weld line on the bottom (where the anode of the cell is internally welded to the can) but, thankfully, it’s different from other cells using a spiral. This makes it easier to determine which are being used for rewrapped cells.
***China Compulsory Certification, additional testing now required for all cells made or sold in China after August 1, 2024. The logo and certain information must be put on all cells once they are certified. This typically won’t be done by a manufacturer until the cell is ready to go into full production.

VooPoo future?

I recently texted VooPoo with questions about their products on their website, and they replied asking me which website I was referring to. I replied with Voopooofficialsite.com. They responded, “The website is currently not taking orders.” I texted back asking why and when they might resume, but I have received no reply to date.

I know there is a group on here specifically for VooPoo, but I figured I might not be getting the whole picture, so I wanted to ask before I continue. I found it strange that they recently revealed a new product, so I'm unsure.
