Introduction:​

Uwell have gone back to the drawing board with their Caliburn G3 Pod Kit. Their aim was to improve the already very successful, Caliburn G Series Pod kit.

The Caliburn G3 features an onboard screen, precise wattage adjustment, a larger 900mah battery along with a new leak proof design. To also suit RDL vapers, they have bumped up the wattage to 25W and brought out an airier 0.6Ω 2.5ml (integrated coil) pod.

Is it actually 100% leak proof? Does it suit the range of tight MTL through to RDL vapers? Read on and find out!







The Caliburn G3 comes in 6 colours, along with 5 new colours due shortly. I received the gorgeous blue.

Features:​

For a pod kit, and especially a small one like the G3 is, its feature list is impressive. Starting from the top - The G3 has a 2.5ml integrated coil, refillable pod tank. An integrated coil means you replace the pod, instead of just the coil when the flavour has gone. You receive both a MTL 0.9Ω pod and a 0.6Ω loose MTL/RDL pod. With the pods being transparent it's easy to see your ejuice level. And thanks to the cutout window of the device, you can see right to the base of the pod.

The Caliburn G3 is made from aluminium alloy. It c[BGCOLOR=initial]an fire from pressing the button and/or auto-draw. It features a trigger lock which is handy and essential for pocket carry. This also gives you the option of using the G3 in auto-draw mode only. With the onboard screen, you can adjust your wattage in 1W increments up to 25 watts. The 900mah battery can be charged at up to 2 amp via its type C port.[/BGCOLOR]

First Impressions:​

Sleek and stylish were my first thoughts when I opened up the box. I liked the size, how slim it was and how light. It also felt and looked like a quality product. What I liked the most was the large cutout at the top of the device, so I could easily see my ejuice level.

Pod Tank:​

What helps to make the G3 leak proof is the new ultrasonic welding Uwell use for this pod series. Does it work? Definitely. I haven't had a single drop of moisture into the pod deck, or oozing from the pod tank. Due to this new design and the 2.5ml size increase, the Caliburn G3 is only compatible with the G3 series of pods. However there are plenty of choices available in this range. Depending on the location, you also get a choice between a 2,5ml side port refillable transparent pod tank or a 2ml (TPD) top fill pod tank. For a tighter MTL there's a new 1.2Ω pod tank due shortly.



Another innovation from Uwell is to make this range of pods work just as well with high VG ratio ejuices and thinner lower VG (50/50) ejuices. Nicotine salts or freebase ejuice. The pods perform at the same high level, so you get maximum flavour from your ejuice. It is great to see this happening, especially for those of us who prefer a 70vg/30pg and even lower PG ratio ejuice.

Filling:​

There is a large fill-port on the side of the pod tank that accepts larger nozzles with no issues. I'm presuming the top fill pod tank will be the same as other Uwell pods, which means simply snapping off the mouthpiece cap to reveal the red fill port. The side fill port has a thick rubber seal which actually seals in the ejuice! This is a common area for leaks to occur, but thankfully not for the G3.

I've been filling mine 99% full, while leaving a tiny gap for air bubbles. If I get distracted and overfill it then it is only gurgly for the first two or three puffs.

Getting Started:​

The 0.6Ω pod comes pre-installed with the Caliburn G3 and you'll find the MTL 0.9Ω in a sealed pouch. After you've filled your chosen pod, peel off the bottom seal (0,6Ω only) and pop it back into the device. Please then give your pod a good 5 minutes (30 minutes and more is better) to soak in the ejuice before using. If it tastes at all funky, give it more time.

You will need to turn the G3 on with 5 clicks of the fire button.

Device & Functions:​

The Caliburn G3 pod tank sits snugly and firmly into the device's deck. I've given it multiple drop tests, most unintentionally and the pod tank has stayed firmly in place. The large fire button is slightly contoured and textured. This makes it easy to find with your thumb. It makes a quiet clicking sound and isn't at all rattly.

The 900mah battery at lower wattages will easily see you through the day. The bonus of having 2A fast charging means it only takes 45 minutes to go from empty to full. When I use it at higher wattages I get half a day from a full charge.

The G3 is the first in the Caliburn G series of pod devices to feature an OLED screen. Considering how small the device is, I'm impressed with how much information the screen shows. The menu system is simple. Along with turning the device on or off, you can adjust your wattage, reset the puff counter and change the firing modes. The screen also displays your current puff time for 2 seconds after firing.

The Caliburn G3 chipset fires extremely fast. Up at 25 watts there is no delay, it ramps near instantly. No matter what your battery level is at, it performs the same and gives you the full wattage.

Airflow:​

Uwell have kept things simple with the airflow, while still keeping you in the driver's seat. The device has dual-sided airflow which works its way up into the base of the pod via a channel. The amount of airflow into the pod is firstly determined by which pod you choose. The 0.6Ω has larger channels than the 0.9Ω. And I'd presume the new 1.2Ω pod will have the smallest channels. Each pod also has two different sized airflow channels. By simply rotating the pod 180° you can choose more or less airflow. If you insert the pod with Pro FOCS Uwell facing the front, it gives you the larger airflow channel option.

0.6Ω Pod:​

The G3 sets the 0.6Ω at 25 watts automatically, so please read the menu guide to adjust it to your preference.

What you get from the 0.6Ω pod is extremely smooth airflow and plenty of vapour. The flavour? Absolutely superb. I've been using the wattage in the 16 - 25 watts range for this pod. Up high, I get more vapour, however the flavour is just as good down at 16 watts or lower. The warmness of the vapour also drops with the wattage. My preference is 20 watts for RDL. It strikes a great balance between plenty of vapour, flavour and a cooler vape.

In terms of airflow restriction - larger channel, it's a restricted direct lung. Smaller channel, it is a loose mouth to lung or a tight restricted direct lung.

0.9Ω Pod:​

With the 0.9Ω pod the G3 sets it at 15 watts automatically, use the guide above to lower that to your preference.

The airflow from the pod is again very smooth. The vapour levels are down a notch or two, but it is still enough to keep me satisfied. The flavour is excellent at 15 watts. Top-notch. And there's no drop off in flavour as you go down in wattage. At 10 watts you get a more cigarette-like vapour and it is a fantastic cooler vape. At this wattage it reminds me of my first vaping device - which is how I quit smoking.

The max wattage for this pod is 15 watts and that is my personal preferred wattage for this pod. The airflow is definitely more restricted with this pod. With the larger airflow channel it is a comfortable MTL. The smaller channel gives you a tighter MTL. So yes, the G3 does suit most MTL ranges.

Performance & My Thoughts:​

What makes a pod kit stand out for me, is how well its pod tank functions and performs. In both regards the Caliburn G3 has swept away my other pod devices. The flavour from the G3 pods is absolutely top-notch. They are right up there with my best flavoured coils. In terms of lifespan, the pods last the distance. My 0.6Ω pod was well over 1800 puffs before the flavour started fading ever so slightly. The 0.9Ω pod is at 1500 puffs and still going strong.

90% of pod devices I've tried have problems with ejuice seeping into the deck, especially when left alone for a few days. The G3 has been 100% leak free. I have a couple of G3's and purposely left one with a full tank set aside for a week. The deck remained dry. I personally usually prefer replaceable coils over replaceable pods. However with the flavour and the quality of the G3 pods, I'm happy.

The quality of the G3 pods is also matched by the quality of the device itself. The metallic finish has held up very well over time and knocks and bumps (most unintentional!) haven't made a mark. And talking of knocks and bumps, I really like how firmly the pod tank sits in the deck. In my pocket, or my car or in my bag it stays together. When you try and take a photo of two pods and they keep moving closer to each other? You know they have quality magnets.

The design and features of the Caliburn G3 make it just as suitable for an experienced vaper or a brand new one. I love being able to easily adjust the wattage to my preference. The OLED screen is also a very welcome addition, especially with the amount of information it shows. The chipset is all you could ever need in this type of a device. Being able to trigger-lock the fire button in two clicks is very handy. When I'm out and about I leave it in this mode, knowing it's only going to fire via auto-draw. I also like that I get maximum wattage no matter what my battery level is. While I wish it had a slightly larger battery for use at 25 watts, that would increase the size of the G3. And as it is, it's sleek, light and so pocket friendly.

The airflow options are simple, but they work perfectly. This isn't a full on direct lung cloud-chucking pod, nor was it designed to be. What it does, and does so well is give those who prefer a restricted DL or a loose MTL a fantastic option. It does this, while staying true to its core group of MTL vapers.

The best thing about the G3 is that it is a perfect first device for a new vaper. It can be as simple as filling up a pod and vaping. On top of that - it then gives a new vaper options to experiment with, and to grow. If you are looking for an alternative to disposables, you've found it.

The Bottom Line:​

Am I still using this Uwell Caliburn G3 Pod Kit after testing? Yes. I now have a couple more. [BGCOLOR=initial]Why? Amazing flavour, smooth airflow, impressive features and the quality to match it all.[/BGCOLOR]

The Caliburn line is always going to be primarily about MTL. The G3 definitely ticks that box, while successfully bringing in my fellow RDL vapers. I have no hesitation in recommending it for new vapers as an ideal starter kit. Or for anyone wanting a quality 100% leak free device that pumps out the flavour.

Saturday Florida Governor Ron DeSantis told a crowd in Fort Dodge his feelings on vapor products.


“On this vaping stuff, you shouldn’t. If you don’t do anything, you shouldn’t start to vape. It’s not good for you. But what I’ve found is people that have used cigarettes and got addicted to that, they’re addicted to nicotine when they go to the vape that’s less harmful for them than doing the normal cigarettes.”


“And so, you know, if somebody can take something and do harm reduction, you know, I don’t think that the FDA should ban that. I think people should have the ability, the adults should have the ability to do that. Obviously, kids shouldn’t be doing any of this stuff,” DeSantis said.

When asked about the ban on menthol cigarettes in November of this year he made a similar comment.


“If somebody goes from cigarettes to vape, it actually is much less damaging than doing the normal cigarettes. So these people were addicted to nicotine, this is what they had. And if you would have allowed that bill to go in, a lot of them probably would have gone back to cigarettes. That would have been totally counterproductive,”.

And again, in September of 2020 he vetoed a flavor ban in Florida.

In his veto letter, DeSantis called vaping a “reduced-risk alternative” to cigarettes and said the legislation “would almost assuredly lead more people to resume smoking cigarettes."

The governor also raised concerns that the ban could drive more people to the black market. He said that could be significant because of the nationwide cases of lung illness traced to black market vape cartridges containing THC.

DeSantis also said the provision in the bill raising the minimum age to purchase products to 21 is “superfluous” given that’s the age already mandated by federal law.

As for the issue of underage use, the governor said it is still an important goal, but that it “will not be achieved by eliminating legal products for adults and by devastating the small businesses who provide these adults with reduced risk alternatives to cigarettes.”

I need some advice please.
I'm looking at the Hellvape Seri RDA. It's a triple coil RDA that adds up the resistance of the coils instead of halving it. For example, if you have x3 0.10 resistance coils, it would come out at 0.30ohm. Obviously you need a high powered mod for such a thing. A reviewer I watch on YT (Mike Vapes) says you will need a 10-12v mod to power this RDA.
My question is, does this mean I would need a mod that uses 3 batteries? A 21700 battery is 3.6v, so 2 of them is only 7.2v. How would one get 10-12v from a mod?
I'm not yet at the stage where I feel comfortable with a mechanical mod. My understanding of ohms law etc isn't that great and I don't want to risk it.
I see some dual battery mods claiming an output of 12v (Geekvape Aegis X for example, a dual 18650 mod). But how can a dual battery mod output 12v when even a 21700 has 3.6v? How is that possible?

Worked ok. The fact that it had magnetized side panels worked very much in my favor.. looks ok to me, works well. I thought at first I would need to drill both the magnet plate and the back plate. I might have gotten an extra mm out of it, but it wasn’t needed. I did manage to lose all six screws for the backplate (argh). The simple soolution is don’t remove the actual backplate at all, so no t4 torx bit needed. Just a 1” step drill. I didn’t even need to epoxy it in. Decent electric tape (3m super 33) was enough so it’s not even permanent for the AirTag

Good afternoon everyone!

I've been using the Geekvape Aegis mod with the Zeus (or whatever they're called) tanks/coils. Always worked great for me. Then one day, my coils started only lasting about 24 - 48hrs before getting the awful burning taste. I had been using the frozen monster, juice monster, and ripe collection juices for quite a while with no problems before this happened. I tried 2 other brands of tanks/coils....same problem. So then I started trying difference juices but continued having the same problems. I finally found 1 brand that gives me more than a week out of a single coil.....Keep It 100 is the only brand I've found that works. I've tried frozen monster, juice monster, ripe collection, sad boy, and vapor fi juices...all with no success. Unfortunately, the Keep It 100 juice is no longer available in my strength at Vapor Fi.

Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this problem for me? Juice suggestions? Anything will help.

Posting this mostly because people here are a bit more interested in health and safety than the norm. Chubs are Those sausage things with metal clips on the ends that are the cheap way to buy ground meat. I ran into a guy who bought and tested one and it was quite bad. I think I know what the issue may have been: it was frozen too fast. There are two ways to sterilize stuff with heat: cook it or freeze it. The freezing has to be done in a particular way though. The deal with freezing is when the ice crystals for they lyce the cells. Speared from the inside as it were. If the freezing is done fast enough though the crystals are smaller and the cells may not lyce. If they don’t they can just come right back. My dad did cell line research and the way he would do it to preserve cell lines is to got them to just above freezing then pour in liquid nitrogen. Meat companies don’t do that of course, but they do have blast freezers. So the way to be safe is thaw them in the fridge, then toss them in the freezer. A consumer freezer is much less powerful than a blast freezer and it will freeze them slowly enough to get nice big deadly ice crystals.

So I was drilling a hole in the magnetic backplate to house an AirTag (which worked well btw) but I took off the inner backplate because I wanted to drill that too (didn’t need it) It’s held on with 6 torx t4 screws, and they got lost. Anyone with a mod of the same model can measure the screws (they’re metric :/) in particular I need to know the length and diameter. I found some screws on aliexpress that look a lot like them but they come in several sizes.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS


I didn't expect much as far as packaging goes because after all it's a disposable. Each device ( I Was Sent 5 Flavors ) is sealed in a plastic wrapper and has a sticker covering the USB-C charge port and airflow inlet hole next to it, when charging or vaping a tiny LED inside the hole illuminates. The sticker is a safety measure that's applied to ensure no air can accidentally fire the device during shipping ( This Device Is Auto Draw Only ). The mouthpiece has a silicone plug installed in it for the same reason, both must be removed before using. I like the shape because the indents on each side fit my finger and crook of my hand nicely while holding.

Hallo frinds, I use the tw-20 coils for the l forch tank I have to say the vapimg and flavour are awesome.
I vape between 40-50w and I change a coil evry 10 days I now swe in my country now the nwe pnp mv-1 mash coils I wish to know please if someone knows if there there will keep the flavour good as it is and if there life time is longer?
