E-cig firing on it's own

I bought a Voopoo Drag S Pro about 2 months ago and about a month back it started firing on it's own.

First, it was just every so often and about 2 or 3 short bursts, then it stopped for a while. Then, it got more frequent and it was always after a few drags. Now, its been firing consistently after 1 or 2 drags and it begins firing over and over for both long stretches and short bursts. This means I can't even vape on it anymore. For the past few days, I've been able to turn it off, take off the tank, wipe out the liquid that has leaked and then wait for about 5 minutes, then use it again and it hasn't done it for a while. Now, it's doing it all the time, and I can't even use it anymore.

Also, the auto-draw doesn't work anymore. I never really used it, but I'm assuming this is also a problem, since it should work, and worked perfectly fine when I first got it. For about a month and a half I haven't been able to use that feature at all, but I never really cared because I never used it anyway.

Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix it or what I should do?

Vandy Vape Pyro V4 RDTA Review | By Z-Lee

Vandy Vape Pyro V4 RDTA

HmjRpV9.jpg

Hello and welcome back! Today I have quite a treat for those of you who are flavor chasers and don't mind tooting out some big clouds (from your face, of course ). I'm constantly looking around to see what people claim to be "the best" RDA, RDTA, RTA, SRBA, purchasing them, and then being let down. In the past 6 or so months, I've seen a lot of clout around the Vandy Vape Pyro V4 RDTA, Damn Vape Nitrous RDA, and Vandy Vape Drop (OG and V1.5) RDA from a number of people claiming each of them to be "the best". Of these, I've purchased the Drop V1.5 RDA and now have acquired the Pyro V4 RDTA for the purpose of this review, thanks to Sue over at HealthCabin.

Understand that comparing a squonk capable RDA to an RDTA or RTA isn't directly applicable, as they both play a different role for a different setup/purpose. Even though the Drop V1.5 RDA does produce very good flavor, my liking to it is actually in the build deck - it's wide open allowing you to do some pretty cool things with it. Now, if we were to solely compare pure flavor output, despite it's flaws, I can without a doubt say that the Pyro V4 RDTA is now one of the cleanest tasting and best rebuildable decks that I own. This review will remain as unbiased and objective as I am able.

Ready for some pictures!

-Main Features and Colors-

Cr8l5PV.jpg

Color Options:
  • Stainless Steel
  • Matte Black
  • Rainbow
  • Gunmetal
  • Gold
  • Frosted Grey
All colors come with a black resin 810 drip tip.

Main features:

  • New air path design to make smoother airflow and a fuller taste
  • Increased e-juice capacity for longer use time
I have no experience with previous editions of the Pyro RDTA, but when taking a quick peek at the Pyro V3, I see these two things being nice upgrades. The airflow in the Pyro V3 was a thin band of honeycomb air holes that ran along the middle underbelly of the coils aiming to capture the airflow from the bottom up. The Pyro V4 took this to a whole new level offering honeycomb airflow fully surrounding the entire underbelly of your coils in a bowl shape, offering airflow from a much greater number of airflow holes, most of which aimed at the central point of the coil(s). I see this working well for both a single and dual coil configuration however, I think you're better off running dual coils simply to fill in the chamber space that may otherwise dilute the flavor of the vape.

Also, the tank has been upgraded from 4 mL to a 5 mL capacity from the Pyro V3 to the V4.

iUJdlL4.jpg

hGnTcZu.gif

-Postless Deck-

PVaPUrx.jpg

First off, this is a postless deck if you hadn't already noticed. The 4 larger holes surrounding the center of the deck are where your coil leads (legs) will be screwed in. If you're ever confused about the orientation of your coils, look for the PEEK insulator (the tan plastic piece separating 2 post holes from the other 2). Whichever side of the PEEK insulator covers the center of the deck, that's your positive connection. In this case, the smaller cutout noted by the [+] covers the center of the deck, and is thus the positive end. When installing the coil(s), one lead needs to be connected to the positive side and one needs to be connected to the negative side.

Using the numbered post holes in the right picture, you can see that post hole 1 and hole 2 can go together as well as 3 and 4. If you're going to go with a single coil, you can use this same configuration by simply removing a coil or, you can run them diagonally. In this case, you can run a single coil from post hole 2 to 4, or 1 to 3.

Whichever way you plan to build this, there's a lot of airflow directed at your coil(s) which is sure to guarantee at least a decent output of flavor.

ZVdPrmX.jpg

The coil measuring tool that comes with the kit is marked at 8 for this particular deck. I don't remember if I went ahead and used the 8 mm slot or not. If you plan to use a single coil and go with a cross post coil installation (2 to 4 or 1 to 3 as mentioned above), I'd recommend maybe clipping at 9 or 10 mm just to make sure your leads will reach each post hole; enough to ensure they can be properly secured with the post screws. 8 mm is a good starting point for dual coils. If you feel your coils are sitting too high, feel free to clip off a mm or two.

-Refilling-

5iTDUAN.jpg

Unfortunately the refilling process is probably the biggest irk I have about this tank other than the top cap being extremely difficult to adjust airflow and/or remove to refill after the reservoir has been filled. I'll talk about this more later. While I am able to seal off a 120 mL Gorilla bottle nozzle while filling the juice reservoir, it's very finicky. You must keep the bottle tip at a near perfect 90 degree angle while squeezing the bottle and the bottle must be over half full with juice, otherwise you have to tilt the atomizer to its side like you see in the picture above which enables juice to oversaturate the lowest sitting juice ports and drain out freely onto your hand and whatever else that's sitting below the atomizer. DO NOT fill the reservoir holding the atomizer horizontally to the ground. You can avoid this by making sure your bottle is at least half full of juice or not filling the reservoir all the way to the top.

This begs the question however; what good is an upgrade in capacity from 4 mL to 5mL if you're not able to fill the reservoir to the top - especially with this refill process being a bit more of a pain than most others? I think a downward slanted refill hole that's a millimeter or two wider in diameter could have alleviated pretty much all of these issues.

-Easy Cleaning-

8YCtlEG.jpg

This RDTA comes fully apart for easy cleaning. This exploded view helps to identify what people are talking about if you're still in the beginning stages of rebuilding. If a tutorial says to remove the top cap, you can look at this and say "Ayyy, I bet they're talking about the Airflow cap!"

Also remember, if/when you change out the 510 positive pin, that the tan PEEK insulator (second item in on the far left) doesn't get lost in the shuffle. This will cause an immediate short in any mod. In a regulated mod, this just means the mod won't fire, but you may have a difficult time diagnosing the problem if you didn't know that a PEEK insulator needs to be there. In an unregulated mech mod, this could lead to much more drastic things like batteries exploding.

-What To Expect In The Box-

IdCQOpS.jpg
  • Pyro V4 RDTA
  • Accessories Bag (Lots of O-rings, 4 deck screws, Phillips Driver, Allen Wrench, 510 drip tip adapter)
  • Instruction Manual
  • 2x Triple Fused Clapton Coils 3 mm ID (inner diameter) @ 0.41Ω each (0.2~0.21Ω if installed as a dual coil)
  • Coil Lead Guide
  • Spare Pyrex Glass
  • Gold-plated 510 BF "squonk" Pin
These photos were pulled directly from Vandy Vape's site. As far as I know, the TPD version will likely come with a rubber bung only allowing 2 mL of e-juice, not 5 mL. HealthCabin only has the Standard Edition available at the moment. I'm not sure if they plan on supplying the TPD version in the future.

-Specs-
  • Dimensions: 37.45 mm height * 25.5 mm diameter
  • Construction: Stainless steel, Pyrex glass tank, Resin drip tip
  • E-juice capacity: 5 mL (2 mL for TPD Version I'd assume?)
  • Deck style: Postless
  • Coil options: Single or Dual Coil
  • Squonk capable: Yes
  • Airflow control: Dual sided airflow control ring
  • Airflow positioning: Top airflow
  • Drip tip: 810 resin drip tip (without O-rings)
-Personal Observations & Experiences-

BWDfh7R.jpg

The Vandy Vape Pyro V4 RDTA arrived in good health. The box is presented in an orderly fashion with almost everything you'd need to get it up and running. The Stainless Steel finish looks immaculate and isn't quite the fingerprint magnet you'd think it would be. The machining is top notch with very few things to be desired. However, this design doesn't come without a few flaws, as great of a vape as it is.

QOh0dcO.jpg

The kit comes with pretty much everything you need, with the exception of cotton wick and a flat head screwdriver. Now this may seem rather trivial, but why include a hex wrench and phillips head driver, but not a flat head to remove the solid 510 pin? Seems kind of odd to me, especially when they could have just thrown this into the kit:

JBMpNUx.jpg

I don't remember which kit I pulled this tri-bit tool from, but I store a few of these in different configurations in my rebuild kit for quick access.

-A Closer Look-

VvcOYPD.jpg

This is the deck flipped upside down to show you both the gold-plated solid and squonk 510 pins. The solid pin comes pre-installed and requires a flat head driver to remove. The squonk pin to the right uses an allen wrench which they did correctly. I've been seeing brands such as Oumier with their VLS, Wasp Nano, and Wasp King (these are the RDAs I can attest to) using open ended flat head squonk pins. If you were to imagine the solid 510 pin above on the left with a hole drilled down the middle, so you see where juice might go if you're squeezing a bottle that's feeding juice up through the pin? Yes, right out the ends of the flat head driver slot. This creates a massive mess down in the 510 compartment of the mod, and is sure to cause issues down the road with juice eventually leaking into the mod. Be aware of this when purchasing future squonk capable RDA and RDTAs.

xwFiLwf.jpg

The picture on the left shows the tiny refill hole just above the knurling. Not only is this difficult to get juice into, but I believe it also leaks juice out of it. How have I come to this conclusion you ask? Well, I mentioned before that the top cap is very difficult to slide to adjust airflow and just as difficult to twist and pull to remove it from the deck. Every time I've removed the top cap, there's a solid coating of juice covering the entire area between the two visible O-rings encapsulating the refill hole. I can't imagine anywhere else that juice would be coming from. Furthermore, the leaked juice creates quite a suction on the top cap - enough that I don't dare remove the top cap while it's on a mod. You're sure to loosen or pull out the 510 plate on pretty much any mod over time - most definitely on press-fit 510's. Be weary of this Vaporesso Gen users. I've been removing the Pyro V4 from the mod to adjust the airflow and to refill. It's kind of a pain, but it's a fair trade-off for the flavor output.

I also wish the knurling along the bottom of the deck was just a tad bit wider. There isn't enough knurling between the top and bottom ring along the bottom of the tank to grip when trying to spin or loosen the top cap.

Sd0su6x.jpg

The top cap sports its own O-ring, so you're able to use whatever 810 drip tip you'd like that doesn't have O-rings on it. There's also included in the accessories bag, a 510 drip tip adapter as well. The knurling along the top is more cosmetic than anything. Even this amount of knurling doesn't allow me to adjust the airflow without removing the RDTA from the mod.

If you match the airflow slot in the top cap (near the bottom of the picture) with the airflow inlet on the deck, you can see how the airflow can be adjusted by spinning the top cap. The airflow is infinite meaning you can freely spin the top cap without it stopping. The variation in airflow is very well done (a full range of MTL to a DL) however, on settings of around 1/3 open or less, I notice a tendency for the atomizer to want to whistle.

K64VJ7A.jpg

Here's an exploded view to give you a better overall idea of how this thing comes apart and reassembles. The machining on this beast is spectacular, other than the tightness of the top cap. Still, I'd rather have it be too tight than too loose, which would likely lead to some leakage.

-Pros/Cons-
==Pros==
  • No leaking other than from user error
  • Very well built
  • Stainless steel isn't a fingerprint magnet
  • Airflow variation is very well done (MTL to DL)
  • Honeycomb airflow for days
  • Flavor output is outstanding
  • 810 drip tip sits firmly
  • 510 drip tip adapter comes in the kit
  • Squonk capable
  • Deck is very forgiving to build on
  • 5 mL tank
  • Disassembles nicely/easy to clean

==Cons==
  • Top cap is incredibly hard to turn for airflow or to take off to refill once it's been filled
  • Refill process is cumbersome
  • Knurling at the base of the deck could be just a tad wider for better grip

==Preference Considerations==
  • Missing a flat head driver
  • No cotton in the package
  • Any further airflow restriction beyond 2/3 closed can cause a slight whistle
  • Can get a little warm when chain vaping with dual coils

-Overall Rating-

For the Flavor Chaser: 9.5-10
Overall experience: 9

There really isn't much to nag on. Sure, a few things could be improved, but overall this is a great product. Currently at Healthcabin it's $24.00 before S&H. If you're looking for a quality rebuildable that won't break the bank, has top notch flavor, and is very easy to build on, look no further.

Again, I want to thank Sue over at HealthCabin for giving me the opportunity to review this product. Hopefully you learned all you need to know about the Vandy Vape Pyro V4 RDTA. If you have any questions, comments, or you see errors, don't be afraid to point them out. Thanks for reading!

Happy vape hoarding!

Closed/Sold Geekvape Blade Crystal Sand and Illusion

Finally located my other two Blade mods. They are beauties and nice mods. I have no need of dual/larger batts and prefer smaller mods. These are lightweight, boxes included but not sealed. I tested the Illusion and used the Crystal Sand for one day so they are basically new .Color on the Crystal Sand is unique and changes depending on the light. A member expressed interest so for @AvaOrchid.......

The 'blemish' you see in the pic of the Crystal Sand is that peel off protective cover. I decided not to remove it. Here is info and pics:
  • Aircraft-grade PPS Material
  • 235W powerful and light TC MOD
  • Advanced aircraft grade material
  • Tri-button design for easy operation
  • 0.015s fast firing speed
  • Friendly user interface
  • Centered 510 thread
  • Micro-USB charging port
  • Dual 21700 battery (not included)
Has the upgraded AS Chip. The only negative I have found is it tends to tip over easily due to the shape. Mod only on the Illusion, the Crystal Sand is a kit. Tank was never used.

45.00 for each including shipping to CONUS, tracking and insurance. I can ship both in one package so if anyone wants both....$80 for the pair. Payable with paypal F&F, no mention of vape or ecigs.

iStick Pico errors

I pulled out my Pico from my 2019 stash and I used it for a month now its telling me no atomizer. I mess with the atomizer usually unscrewing it and it reads but not correctly. My coil is 0.5 and it is reading 0.77 ohm and 4.39 v at 25 w. Other than the watts this changes every time I have to mess with it. I suspect the pin is broken. Any ideas?

Pet peeves

As an old timer, I still enjoy reading a newspaper but delivery issues and costs have ended that. So I've turned to online news but noticed that many of the national news sites have reverted to paywalls. Even Google news links have gotten worse. I have found a workaround that works on most of the sites.
The local news channels are so loaded with ads that I lose patience waiting for them to load. And then the clickbait slideshow sites - who has time for that?

Frio Bar R5000 Disposable Designed by Freemax | Review by Z-Lee

Frio Bar R5000 Rechargeable Disposable
Designed & Manufactured by Freemax

mA7oAHR.png

BFacfHr.png

Hello vapers and welcome back. Today we'll be looking at the Frio Bar R5000, the largest sibling to the Frio Bar R3000, R1600, R600, 600, and 500, and the only one of the bunch that can be recharged for maximum puffs. This model along with the other 5 models were all designed and manufactured by Freemax which really adds some top notch quality to the flavor output. For anyone that's had the pleasure of vaping with the Freemax Fireluke or Mesh Pro tanks understands what I'm talking about. If you want top notch flavor and coils that will outlast most other coils on the market by a long shot, Freemax is the one to choose. In this regard, Frio Bar teaming up with Freemax to produce their line of disposables has resulted in a very similar outcome.

I'm going to be honest with you, I'll be the first to discourage anyone from starting their vape journey with a disposable simply because I don't think they're very cost effective or environmentally friendly. If neither of these two things bother you, however, and the only vape you can acquire that will keep you off the stinkies are disposables, then look no further.

I want to thank Tina, the Frio Bar team, and the Freemax team for supplying all 10 flavors the R5000 comes in for the purpose of this review. As always, I will remain objective (as possible) and unbiased.

This may be one of my more subjective reviews simply because the device is so simple to use, that it doesn't even come with an instruction manual. Thus, my evaluation aside from the basic operation and overall experience with this disposable will be the accuracy and thoughts on each individual flavor.

And now for the flip book.

**Pictures can be clicked on to enlarge for easier viewing**

-What's In The Box-

736oTbW.png

I received a variety pack with all 10 flavors that came in the "Middle" sized box (I'm not sure I want to see what the Large Box looks like, lol). Each individual disposable comes in a single box seen on the left. The only thing in the box is the R5000 disposable itself that comes in sealed plastic.

12bUOv2.jpg

On a side note, this is the first time I've noticed a warning label stating "NOT FOR USE BY CHILDREN OR NON-SMOKERS" on any device that I've recently seen. I'm not sure if this is something Frio Bar decided to do themselves, or if this is a result of further downward pressure applied by the FDA.

-To Start Vaping-
(This really doesn't need a tutorial, but alas)

wzts5Iq.jpg

Tear the end off from the cutout at the bottom end of the plastic.

UAzith8.jpg

Remember to remove the rubber seal in the mouth piece.

1cvPCa6.jpg

The sticker on the bottom needs to be removed to allow airflow and gaining access to the USB Type-C charging at a later point (all disposables arrived with near 100% charge).

af2Haxl.jpg

The bottom of the device has an LED that doesn't do much other than light up when taking a puff, light up when charging, and blink 3 times when the charging cable has been removed.

-The Look-

bbMrjOJ.png

The "R" in R5000 refers to the resin design implemented in the visual aesthetic in this disposable. This same design pattern can be found in the R3000, R1600, and R600 models. While this doesn't particularly reach out and grab me, the resin design gives this device a gleaming marble look which subliminally I'd associate with words like "solid", "hard", "durable", and "classy". Furthermore, when spinning each of the 10 different disposables in a complete circle, I don't see a reset line in the design pattern anywhere along the way indicating that these devices are carved out of a single piece of resin. For solidity purposes, it doesn't get much sturdier than this for PCTG. My clumsiness has knocked many of these disposables to the ground accidentally and none of them have faltered in the slightest.

The mouth piece is thin and oblong allowing it to fit very comfortably between your lips.

hinnNcu.jpg

The draw of this device is a pretty loose MTL however, the auto-draw detector is quite sensitive. You can draw as slow as you want, and you'll still be pulling in vape. You can also use loose lips on the mouth piece to allow additional airflow and vape this as an RDL. I will warn you however, you can draw in quite a bit of vape in this fashion and find yourself feeling a bit queasy and light-headed very quickly. This is generally how I vape MTL's, but take shorter puffs.

-The Coil-

A61nfjU.png

Freemax needs no introduction when it comes to flavor output and lifespan of their coils. FM SaltCOILTECH is their newest COILTECH innovation which they released with the Onnix and Onnix 2 using their 1.0Ω+ OX coils. The OX coils are definitely on par for flavor and coil life as the COILTECH 4.0 coils found in the 904L X and M coils found in the Fireluke 3 and Mesh Pro 2 tanks.

WH05mZk.png

Freemax uses a Tea Fiber Cotton Formula in their coils known to some reviewers such as MikeVapes as "voodoo magic", and it seems to be just that. I'm not sure how they do it, but their flavor output is consistently on point. This formula also boasts an antimicrobial property which may prove to be a better option for those sensitive to allergies or microorganisms.

-The Battery-

rOkOUPN.png

The Frio Bar R5000 uses a 700 mAh battery. While this may be a downsize from the R1600's 1300 mAh battery, the R5000 can be recharged while the other models cannot.

I must admit for the size, that this battery holds up for a very long time. I have an hour and a half commute to and from work, and while I haven't solely been using this device (the 5% nic strength is a bit much for my liking), with regular use I've only had to charge the battery once so far. My estimation in puffs for the disposable I've used the most would probably be in the 400ish range.

The only downside that I see to the charge port is that it recharges at 0.1 Amps. I'm not able to determine the full length of time for a full recharge simply because the LED only indicates when it's plugged in and when the cable has been disconnected. Doing the math however, it's estimated to take around 7 hours to fully charge. This might seem like a let down, and it kind of is, but you can be almost 100% sure the battery will last you an entire day. With that in mind, you simply put it on a charger overnight, and grab-n-go on the way out the door. This device also supports pass-through vaping meaning, you can safely vape it while it's charging.

xyGbnMq.png

I'd associate the longevity of the battery closer to the performance I'd expect from a mod with a 1.6 or 1.8 Ohm coil. Coils that have a higher resistance require less Wattage (battery power) to vape with however, often there's a trade off in the amount of flavor output. The flavor output is quite immense in these Frio Bars - sometimes a bit too much for my liking. Of course this is purely subjective and the powerful flavor production might be exactly what you're looking for.

-Model Comparisons-

ddjfATn.jpg

As mentioned before, the biggest factor that sets the R5000 apart from the others is the ability to recharge the battery. The R600 has a different selection of flavors, a 1.4 Ohm coil better suited for a smaller battery, and a 20 mg/mL nicotine strength as well as a 2 mL pod capacity to suit TPD restrictions.

VOOPOO ARGUS GT 2 KIT REVIEWED BY BIGBOB 2322

Greetings once again and welcome to today's review of the next evolution of the Argus GT as well as a a new version of the MAAT Tank from Voopoo. Both the mod and tank have a new design with some big upgrades to their predecessors which are proven winners. The Argus GT 2 has taken a different route than the original being a IP68 rated device making it a dustproof, shockproof and waterproof device able to withstand the harsh elements outdoors while still looking like a mod that you would want to pamper. First off let me introduce you to the new features of the 1968 rated Argus GT 2 Kit by Voopoo then I will give you my impressions of this kit in my review.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

First off I have to say that the presentation of the Argus GT 2 Kit is great with a outer cardboard sleeve with most of the features printed on it, inside the cardboard sleeve is a attractive metal case with Argus Outdoor embossed on the top cover.

The original Argus GT Kit came in a nice case as well but it was plastic, the bonus of a case such as these is you now have a storage solution for various vape items such as coils, cotton, screwdrivers, cutters etc.

20220328_131508.jpg

Inside the case is a pre-formed plastic insert that all of the Argus GT 2 contents rest in with the user manual laying on top. I was sent a sample version from Voopoo but I don't see them changing anything on the final retail version as far as the kit presentation.

Your charge cable and 2 coils are in the accessory box located at the top, the 2 coils are the DM3 - 0.15Ω Mesh rated for between 80-100w with a best setting of 85-95w and the DM2 - 0.2Ω Mesh rated for between 40-60w with a best setting of 50-55w.

The first word out of my mouth was WOW and I didn't even pick the device or tank up yet.

Seeing the metal skeleton of the device and knowing it was IP68 rated I thought it was going to be a heavy mod but it's not overly heavy without batteries.

Rubbing my hand across the spine that looks like a woodgrain leather but had more of a grippy rubber feel to it with some cushiony give as well, it feels great in the hand either finger firing or using your thumb. The Argus GT2 name is lightly embossed on the spine.

As you can see in my opening photo the Argus GT2 is a real looker of a device.

20220402_103809.jpg

Starting at the top with the new design of the Maat that has a nice 6.5ml capacity I like the new look except for the bottom of the base that has a rounded off look, it works as far as a match for the mod but it would have looked even better if the base had a flatter bottom, installing the tank there is a miniscule gap to protect the finish on the top plate of the mod.

There are 2 airflow slots 180° from each other with 2 airflow controls between them, the airflow controls are not independent of each other, adjusting 1 adjusts the other as well. The 810 drip tip has 2 O-rings on it with a metal base and is comfortable on the lips and looks good as well.

The coils are a push and pull type with no flat spots needed to be lined up, just prime the coil, push it into the tank and screw on the base.

20220402_172348.jpg

I'm happy with the top fill of the Tank having a easy 1/4 opening making refills a little quicker, as shown in the photo above the top cap has knurling in 3 spots.

There are 2 fill ports that have a silicone covering with a tiny hole that open when a juice bottle tip is pushed in then seal back up once it's removed, I have had a no mess experience filling the Maat tank in the time I've used it.

20220405_132713.jpg

Turning our attention to the Argus GT 2 mod's top, the 510 pin is spring loaded with a good amount of travel and fit the various atomizers that I screwed on. There is a raised cover that slides open covering the Type-C charge port, below the charge port is a step-down of silicone rubber ledges that give a nice accent to the device in my opinion.

20220402_111744.jpg

20220402_143132.jpg

Being a dual 18650 device as most devices do batteries are loaded into the device via a battery door located on the bottom of the Argus GT 2. This is normally a week spot for devices that use this type of system but the battery door's opening/locking switch is very strong with no play in the door when opened, the spring is very solid and I see this lasting without any problems occurring. The same silicone material that the top plate has surrounding also surrounds the bottom as well.

20220402_130633.jpg

Opening the battery door shows correct battery polarity symbols of + (plus) and - (minus) on the gold plated battery door contact points but there is no markings inside the battery tubes, notice the large rubber O-ring surrounding the door cover plate.

20220402_133710.jpg

I was happy to see a nice sized display screen with vibrant and vivid colors but I wish the font size was a little larger, having 6 power modes including TC should make every type of vaper happy, I've tried all power modes except for TC because I don't use it in my personal vaping and have no TC metals to make a coil in another atomizer to test the TC function out and since I don't use it I couldn't give you a correct finding on the TC function anyway.

Each power mode has it's own dedicated color with 1 color designated for all TC metals.

(Smart Mode) limits The Wattage To The Maximum Allowed Of The Coil Used - ORANGE

(RBA Mode) Allows You To Use The Full Wattage Capabilities ( 200 Watts ) - Blue

(Turbo Mode) Gives A Faster Ramp Up - Red

(TC Mode) - (NI, SS, TI) All Metals Use The Same Color - Lime Green

Using the menu is very easy because you only have to use 1 button combination to enter the menu and make all your adjustments outside of wattage or temperature adjustments.

( Press And Hold The Up And Down Buttons Simultaneously)

MENU FUNCTIONS

* Power Modes - Smart, RBA, Turbo, TC With 3 Memory Pre-Sets You Can Customize

* Settings - Clears The Puff Counter - There May Be More Settings On The Retail Version

* About Device - Tells You The Version Of The Chipset And Level Code

* Exit - Takes You Out Of The Menu

LOCKING SWITCH

At the bottom of your up and down adjustment buttons is a locking switch that locks the entire device including the fire button for safe carry in a pocket or handbag without having to turn the device off with the standard 5 presses of the fire button. ( Great Feature )

FINAL IMPRESSIONS AFTER USING THE ARGUS GT 2 KIT

20220402_164205.jpg

It's been a joy using the new Argus Gt 2 Kit, I reviewed the original Argus GT Kit when Voopoo first released it and liked it so much I bought 2 additional kits and they are still in my personal rotation of devices so I know the Argus GT very well.

The new Argus GT 2 mod is a bit thicker and heavier than the original but because it sports a IP68 rating that's to be expected and I really like the new design. With it having a chrome skeleton it is a fingerprint magnet but not as much as some devices using chrome.

Whatever the material is on the spine looks good and feels great in the hand, as I said earlier it feel like a rubber surface that gives a grippy feel to the device. The device is solidly constructed and feels like a IP68 rated device should feel. I have not tortured the device to see how well it would hold up because it's to beautiful of a device to damage the outside to prove it's capability, but I did check it's waterproof claim at it passed the test.

Having such a simple and easy menu is a big plus as well, needing to press only 2 buttons to enter the menu without having to remember different button combinations will make everyone happy. The buttons all feel good with no rattle, the fire button has some play that when the device is shaken can be barely heard but I'm not in the habit of shaking my mods during normal use so it's fine, besides this is a sample version and not the final retail one. I hope that more selections other than a puff clear will be included in the final version though.

The lock switch works great and is a feature that I wish all devices had because of the ease of flicking a switch and stowing away in a pocket safely.

I have noticed 2 glitches with the sample version though, the first being that the batteries don't discharge at the same rate in the battery % screen, 1 is always less than the other when vaping, I haven't noticed any change in performance but I did want to mention it.

The 2nd glitch is with the puff counter not keeping the correct number of vapes when a battery change is performed, it always displays a different number count than what it should be. Other than the 2 glitches that I've mentioned the device performs great.

It seems like the trend now days on tanks is to have MASSIVE AIRFLOW and the Maat Tank follows with that trend. Massive airflow is fine as long as you are able to decrease it without any turbulence, whistle or funny sound when you do and I'm happy to report the Maat Tank can be closed down to a very good RDL vape without the mentioned sounds occurring. Airflow is smooth at any setting you choose. Both the provided coils produce very good flavor with the 0.15Ω being more in my style of warmth. Using the 0.15Ω 80 watts was all I needed to produce very good flavor, using the 0.2Ω coil I liked it at 52 watts and saw no need to increase wattage.

My personal opinion on the Argus Gt 2 Kit is that it's a win win for both the mod as well as the tank for performance with a big win on the appearance of the mod. I like the Maat Tanks appearance as well but would have liked it even more if the base was flat at the bottom but because of it's performance I can overlook that, besides it's just a cosmetic preference of mine to have a flat bottomed base.

I would like to thank Aimer and Voopoo for providing the Argus GT 2 Kit for the purpose of this review and I hope my review answered all your questions regarding the Argus GT 2 Kit. It's a winner for sure and highly recommend it to you all.

THANK YOU
