I'm waiting for a package, and he tricked me last time. I swear he didn't come up to the door and knock; just snuck the pink slip in the mailbox and ran. So, today, I'm on it! I'm listening, watching, crouched and ready to pounce! I spot him coming, as he gets to the mailbox, I open the door and step out . .. . he's already opening the mailbox . .. he says, "oh . . . . . hey".
I say, "yeeeeeeesssssssssssss?".
He says, "I got a .. . . a package for you".
"I know, I'm waiting on it."
"It's up in the . . . . ." as he nods up the street to his truck, and pulls the pink slip BACK out of the pile of mail he's already slipped into my box by this time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Oh . . . . . ."
"Here, he says, sign this, and I'll put the package in your mailbox for you after I get back to my truck"
"Ok" . . . . . . . .
Now I'm just waiting to see if he follows through . . . . or if I just signed the piece of paper that says he delivered it and . . . . . . . . eeeeeek!
