Not so smooth control ring

My evic control ring became stiffer on one side over time.
Does anybody think that a drop of oil on the side will help ?
or is a bad idea?

Run some dental floss around either side of the control ring. Works great for me.

No sure why a Small Drop of Oil would hurt your Evic.

But I don't own one so maybe Someone who Actually has one could give more Informed Advise.

I've never had this problem with my eVic ... however, I do like irwink's dental floss idea.

The areas around the control ring accumulate various kinds of grime over time. I have a feeling that adding oil might help in the short term but hurt in the long term by holding the grime that accumulates there. I've had my eVic since Dec 2012 and the 2 times the control ring started to get a little sticky I did the dental floss thing. The ring worked like new after a couple of minutes. I've never felt the need to use a lubricant of any kind.
