If anyone wants a copy on DVD to give to others (rather than hafta explain to them)... just let me know. I am happy to send you one if you want to cover shipping costs.

Hope it is helpful.. if anyone wants to use it for their site or wants a DVD... just drop me a PM. Once you have it.. feel free to make copies of the DVD to give to those silly family members who can't use a computer (I could possibly put it on VHS if you have some older family members who can't use a DVD player lol!)

Please read this whole thread as I am sure people will add important suggestions I may have left our due to time restrictions.

I left out the leather so as to not scare the newbies into thinking that only us "freaks" use PV's (e-cigs) lol!

I will maintain leather/fetishwear for all video reviews of products though. I ordered the Dura-C.. so after I get it and use it a bit.. that will be the next one I think.

Very good video Spikey. I passed the link to a friend of mine who just got her e-cig and is constantly bugging me for info :p

What's in that ziploc bag in the Box? Is that fill for restuffing carts?

The little ziplock baggie close to me is stuffing for carts.

The big one in the purple box is the carts lol :)

Refilling disposable atomiser cartridges

Newbies always want one that looks like a real cig. Always. ALWAYS.

But they almost always wind up getting a 901 or a penstyle in the end, because of the short cartridge life and short battery life on the super minis. And the 89mm is the worst of the superminis. It will only give you about 25-30 puffs per cartridge, and about 50 puffs per battery.

Also, although there are now a few exceptions, for the most part the small atomizers on cigarette sized minis limit the amount of vapor, so most people are more satisfied with a 901 or penstyle in that regard, too.

Lastly, as you vape more in public, you will learn that an e-cig that looks like a cigarette will get too much negative attention from other people, whereas one that doesn't look like a cigarette is less noticeable, and often offends the anti-smokers less, thus avoiding problems. Plus some of them look cool.

... Are these E-Cig's as good as what got us all addicted in the first place...

1, Yes and no. They taste much better, do not damage your health in any way that can be measured or observed (so far) and do not cause social problems if you are among decent people (not the nazis who would like to burn every smoker and/or vaper alive), BUT:
The taste of our vapour is completely and entirely different to the taste of burning tobacco, paper, glue and additives in a traditional cigarette. So you might miss your tar, CO2, toluen, benzene, ammonia, etc. This is NOT a joke. Those things sound terrible and are poisonous/carcinogenic, but they also intoxicate you almost as much as the nicotine itself. You will not crave nicotine when vaping, but you most probably WILL crave the other substances from a tobacco .... Then it is just a matter of willpower/motivation. If you have no problems with smoking, it might be difficult to stop entirely. If you are motivated to stop by any strong reason, these devices will help you almost miraculously. But the motivation must be there. They will not make you quit. They will just enable you do so.

Hope it helps.

There are several manufacturers, and dozens of trading companies/wholesalers/middlemen etc. The low quality product mostly moves through places like dealsExtreme, eBay, etc. The "generic" sellers who you find mentioned frequently here have found good suppliers and are all good choices. Puresmoker, e-SmokeyTreats, LitecigUSA, Smokester, Pillbox, and so on. The "Brands" range from some that just resell generics at a higher price but with a warranty, like Njoy, to those who exert a bit more product control or even manufacture their own, like David Yang, Sedansa, or Janty.

And of course, there's a lot of dispute over who really sells or makes or designed what, but that's part of the fun!

As for the 901, avoid ebay and electronic novelty shops, and you will probably be OK with any of the e-cig dealers here.

What to expect from cartridges.

This is a general guide using information mainly from Cashmere, Ratindahat and Leaford on what to expect from a cartridge:

Super Minis (RN4081, RN4088, DSE103, etc...): About 1-3 cigs worth (20-30 puffs) They hold around 0.3ml of eliquid.

Mini (DSE901, etc...): 5-6 cigs worth (50-75 puffs depending on how you puff) They hold around 0.5ml of eliquid.

Penstyle/classic (DSE801, RN4072, etc...): 7-10 cigs worth (up to about 100 puffs) They hold around 1ml of eliquid.

eCigar: 10-12 cigs worth (up to about 120-130 puffs) They hold around 1.2ml of eliquid.

ePipe (DSE601, etc...) At least 14-15 cigs worth.

Disposable atomizers (LTv9 or clones): one pack (100-300 puffs)

AFTER YOU FIND A DEVICE or DEVICES YOU LIKE....

BUY a LOT of CRAP for it (them)!!!!!

Get replacement parts people! LOTS of them! Borrow $ from whoever you hafta borrow it from and get a LOT of spare parts!!!

Ok.. people keep complaining that they hafta go back to analogs because their atomizer is a dud or their battery blew...

NO MORE WHINING!!!!

If you want to make excuses to go back to killing your lungs... don't bother.. we don't wana hear them. If you just feel like having an analog... go for it.. no one is stopping you (but they taste pretty rancid after vaping for a few weeks).

There is no excuse... if you do your homework... and read these boards... you can see that you need extra parts because these things are essentially diposable!!!

How many atomizers should you have? At least FOUR (4) total.

How many batteries? You should have 3 at least... 4 if you are a heavy vaper because one of them could get fluid in it or just suddenly stop working! (2 is okay if you have MORE THAN ONE DEVICE).

You should have at LEAST 2 different types of e-cigs cause (as noted so brilliantly by someone else today) if you cannot get replacement parts cause someone is out of them.. you can always try to get parts for the other (but you won't have that problem if you follow the above instructions!!!!).

Now stop reading the boards and go to work so you can make more $ so you can get all the spare parts you need and stop whining like little sissies!

(I gotta follow my own advice.. I hafta go back to work!)

PS... sorry for the harshness... but you will thank me later! LOL!

AND...

TO USE CARTRIDGES or LIQUID???

Some people use cartridges because it takes less time. But it costs a LOT more $! I did an "Intro to Vaping" video that may help... but here are the basics.

The cartridge has the poly filling which we call the wick. The "wick" in a prefilled cart is already soaked in e-juice (aka e-liquid aka smokejuice aka nic juice) and can be PG (propylene Glycol) or VG (vegetable glycerine). There is plenty of info on the boards on what the difference is between these 2 types of juice.

If you like the menthol.. I recommend "True Menthol" juice from PureSmoker. It is very minty and fantastic tasting!

Choices are..
-using prefilled carts (just buy them pre-filled at whatever strength u need... which is usually one level LOWER than what you THINK you need)

-topping off (means taking the cartridge off the ecig and using the dropper bottle of liquid to add some drops once it dries out.. then u can use one cartridge for a day or maybe 2 days if you keep it moist all the time before it starts tasing burnt or funny).

-dripping means using no cartridge.. just a mouthpiece and dripping the liquid right ON the atomizer coil and it vapes from there. I find when you do this.. it only lasts 5-10 puffs which is not even a cigarettes worth and you have to do it too often which is too much maintenance for me but gives a stronger hit, but it can also cause liquid to leak into your battery and ruin it so it won't work anymore if you put in too much. (also if your battery dies and you drip.. the atomizer does not heat up and all you suck in is a mouthful of e-liquid which is not good for you!).

-filling dry carts- you can buy "cores" or empty carts that are dry and fill them yourself by topping off with liquid until the top looks "moist" (love that word.... MOIST!) or using a syringe to fill from the bottom up which makes it wetter at the bottom too and makes it last longer than if you just drip the liquid on the top of the wick. If you don't like syringes or are a klutz like me... you can pul th epolyfill (wick) out of the cart, drip in the bottom of the cart and then stuff the wick on top and then top off some more until "moist" (I think that was a hint from Terraphon't re-stuffing video?)

-One more option some people like is removing the "wick" from the cart and just rinsing it out with hot water and squeezing dry with a papertowel and then you can re-use it if it looks white. If you wash with hot water and it is still brown... probably not good anymore.

U should get some liquid.. buying pre-filled carts gets very expensive. You can also replace (or "re-stuff") the "wick" (see video called re-stuffing carts in video review section by terraphon) which means u can use the same cart for weeks and just re-stuff the polyfill material.

Hope that answers some of these newbie questions.

If you spend a few hours on these boards you will learn a LOT fast... and it will save you a lot of time and $!!!

 Sorry, I got carried away. I just want a one stop shop to refer newbies to with answers to common questions.

not a complaint... i like the amount of info... just if i DID start at point A and tried to make it through to point B... i wouldn't have time for much else... LOL.. bad enuff i've already passed on the green brew tonight hehehe

Thanks everyone... esp Kate for adding the other important links! I knew I could count on you :) I figure... they watch the video and then start loking at links and then eventually click on one and that causes them to not find their way back to the page... at that point they are on their own lol :)

I think the video will be helpful for those computer illiterate people though.

Glad you guys liked it.

PS.. I added a link to a low res (lower quality) version which will be faster for Ann and other people with dial up. It is in the main post (I can still edit it.. yay!)
