It was an exciting and vibrant time for vaping here on ECF.
I don't think the vaping population has decreased. Probably the opposite. I just wonder if the "technology" has matured and become more mainstream, so vapers don't need the discussion and advice as much as in the early days. It did take a bit more thought and effort in the earlier days of coilmaking etc. vs. drop in coils and pods and what have you.
But still, I miss the social aspect and camaraderie even though I wasn't a daily participant. (Though this still exists to some extent in Provape forums, Vapourart, byLeo, gourmetjuice and maybe others I'm not current with.)

I doubt it three. I joined in 2013 as well, and the forums were buzzing back then. If i had to guess 2014 was the peak of forum activity ( and vaping activity in general, new vape shops opening, vape conventions etc... ). In 2014, if you didn't check the NET thread for a week, you were dozens of pages behind !

I don't put in the amount of time i did back then either. I haven't tried a single new device in 2016, and perhaps one or two new juices only. I am still interested in the political aspect of vaping, and follow thee developments in that regard, but i'm not really interested in the newest and trendiest devices and juice lines any more.

I also agree that there are probably more vapers now then ever, but the rate of conversion has slowed down considerably. Most smokers who had an interest in our type of vaping ( open systems, coil building, diy, etc .... and hobbyists in general ) have already tried it. The next boom in vaping may be when the pod mods and nic salts are perfected. Perhaps then, the millions who tried cigalikes ( but had no interest in putting in the amount of time we did to perfect our vapes ), and weren't able to quit, will try again. There are millions of smokers who want to quit, but will only try plug'n'play devices imo. They will never be enthusiasts and hobbyists, and are only interested in vaping, for smoking cessation and THR.

I think two things have affected interest in tobacco related juices.

1) the FDA deeming regulations and

2) the technological advances in Vaping taking it from a mouth to lung cigarette alternative experience to a high wattage high vapor production low nicotine lung inhale experience.

I think tobacco related juices are more conducive and pleasurable to Vape as a mouth to lung experience.

I guess that I should preface my votes with the fact that I only vape tobacco extracts from Real Extracts.com I haven't even tried others in a long time as these work for me. House of liquids in the UK and Naturally extracted tobacco from here in the states were the closest to my flavor profile but I stuck with Real Extracts because they are all cold extracted and I like the purity of the natural flavors. (They process my orders reliably and also samples me with anything new).
That being said, here is my vote for the categories:

I'm relatively new to NETs, so take my comments with many grains of salt.
I thought that Real Extracts were very very good, but for me, since I prefer a NET with some added flavor ingredients, I preferred the NET.com ones I tried. On the other hand, as @BoilerGuy mentioned above, there is a purity to their liquids. Almost crystal clear juice.
(My opinion is subject to change. I tried the Real Extracts foob, and it's been a couple of months now. Not sure how they might have changed with some aging. I'll try again in a couple of days.)
I thought that their packaging was great, their customer support was terrific. I don't recall the name of the proprietor, but he was really helpful and generous.
I will buy more from them.

Hi all,

As responses to the poll have not been sufficient to provide enough depth to give meaningful results, and also because I just don't have time to tally up what voting has already taken place right now, I am extending the vote until Saturday, 28th January 11.59pm.

That's nearly 3 more weeks! Please vote when you can and spread the word far and wide and hopefully we will get some depth in the polling.

It's also possible many people have been on holidays and spent time with family and friends over the holiday season. Therefore it seems beneficial to extend the voting to allow more people to get their votes in.

I've voted for this in the past and just don't feel qualified. There's more categories than juices I've tried. I wouldn't be surprised if the number of choices out there reduces the popularity of NETs, it's just too overwhelming. What does the average vaper, ex cig smoker know about the hundreds of flavors of pipe and cigar tobaccos?

If I were to vote, I'd say Patriot, the only one I still buy, and enough reason in itself the FDA must be stopped!
