Poll: Highest price you ever paid for a pack of smokes...

Just to get an idea of what analogs are costing around the country (USA) and the world, I thought I'd take it upon myself to post a poll to see the highest price you've ever paid for a pack of analogs.

For purposes of this poll, I'm referring to regular, brand name analogs that come in packs of 20 or 25, such as Marlboro, Camel, etc. This poll is NOT for specialty cigs that come at a premium price. Just regular smokes.

Wow, I remember paying that much for a carton when I was younger. And now, a single pack for that price?! Ugh...

Before the new tax, I was only paying $17.99 per carton - now they've gone up to $23.99. The most I've ever paid for one pack is probably around $3.50. I cannot imagine paying $8.00 for a pack of cigarettes, but I would have if I'd been stranded with no smokes. Thank goodness for e-cigs!

when I started smoking (1975) I could get a pack out of a vending machine for 35 cents.

I paid 6.15 for a pack of newports last week and I was ......! Marlboros and Kools are around 5.25 here in OK.

$8.75 after the crazy tax hike three years ago, while passing through New York.

At that time, they were up to $5.70 in Connecticut.

Here in Florida lat year, they were $3.80, now they are $4.80 after this most recent crazy tax hike. (Florida has no state tax. Though I suspect politicians are about to change that.)

I get them from the navy commissary now, $3.95 a pack or $32.00 a carton. (I seem to smoke more when I buy a carton, so I buy packs as needed. It is more expensive, but 20% less harmful for me.)

Relatively speaking, they are probably still fairly cheap here in GA. My old brand, Kent is now going for $5.50 a pack. I switched to the cheap no-name brands about a month before I found PV's. Now I've been analog free for 14 days.

$20, in a bar off some guy. I ran out of smokes, the bar didn't sell them and it was 2AM. Guy didn't want to sell them, so I just kept going up until he did. Keep in mind this was 10 years ago.

In my defense, I was severely impaired at the time.

Marlboros $5.39 at an Indian smoke shop. Probably 8 bucks at Quik Mart.

yes but when i comes to actual conversion us is most of the time cheaper then other currencies. tw.uk order cost me more even those the euro is worth more or less at the time

$7.36 for a pack of Capri Menthol at a 7-11 and I got gouged. I fell off the wagon and hadn't bought any in weeks, didn't realize they hadn't gone up THAT much. Other places here they're at $6.25.

Just by way of international comparison, in the UK: £5-6 pounds for a pack of 20 depending on brand - that's about $7.20-8.60 at today's rate. Before the credit crunch hit, it would have been well over $10, but the rates have slid since then.
