Reo Grand and battery

I got lucky and have a Reo Grand on the way. Does it come with batteries and if not what kind of 18650 batteries do I need to get? I looked on the web for them but there was a few different types of 18650 batteries (different ways to connect). Any thing else I need? I bought a lr att for it and a drip tip.

Never mind, I finally found a post that had the info (Ultrafire Protected 18650 Lithium Ion Battery 3000 mah, 3.7 volts).

It does not come with batteries or atomizer.
It does come with a drip tip, extra bottle, Noaloz and restrictor.

I would recommend AW batteries, they are available here on ECF.

Any of the 18650s, the IMRs are more potent but don’t go as long between charges.
The standard 18650s are plenty powerful and should last you about 2 days between charges.

Those Ultrafire 18650 3000 batteries are not recommended for LR attys.
They are good batteries for light loads (under 1 amp).
A 1.5 ohm atty will draw about 2 amps and then some.
Do yourself a favor and spring for the AWs.

How did you get your REO? I've been watching the website and it says none are available until 2/1/11.

You just missed the last of the Grands.
This morning there was at least one red/red available.
Yesterday there was a gold/black also.

I got lucky and got the red/red one this morning. I was kinda shocked when I saw one in stock and snatched it up as fast as I could click. Thanks for the battery info. I will pay a bit more and get one of the AW 18650 Protected 2200 mAh Rechargeable Lithium Battery batteries. Thanks again!

You did good.
Plenty of people have had problems with the Ultrafire 3000.
They are just better in flashlights than they are for PVs.

Thanks tobarger, it was the biggest I could find with the tip end. I read somewhere here that it needed the tip on the end, from the pictures I saw none of the bigger ones had the tip end. I could, of course, be wrong about the tip thing being needed.

I use AW 18650 2200s (with button) in the REO Grand - No Problem
I also use Tenergy 18650 2600s (no button) in the REO Grand - No Problem
The AWs without a button should work fine in the REO.
The REO switch contact has a downward bend at the very tip that should have no problem making contact with a flat top battery.
