So, I haven't been on for awhile, and if I am posting in the wrong forum, moderators please feel free to move this.
I have been analog free for one year next month! Woo hoo! I put them down last August, and i did very well with E Cig. That first month was trial and error to find what I liked, but I found it and haven't craved an analog since that first month of putting them away. My preference is my Joye Ego and Joye PG fluid, menthol, 18 mgs. It works great for me. I love it.
The only problem I have had at all is mouth ulcers. When i first started getting them had no clue what that was all about, then I saw on the forum that it must have been from the E Cig as others experienced the same issue. FOr the next at 9 months after quitting analogs I would get one painful ulcer after another. One would go away, another would pop up somewhere else. And I do not believe it was from the fluid touching my mouth as they would end up in places that fluid never even reached. I never got any on my lips and that is really the only place i would get a bit of fluid come in contact with.
So at any rate, my main reason for posting is that I just got so tired of the ulcers, and was quite frankly ready to quit the E Cig because as much as I enjoyed it, and enjoyed being smoke free, having an ulcer pop up incessantly from now on was not very appealing. So I researched everything I could on this topic and one thing I did find was that SLS - Sodium Laurel Sulfate - in toothpaste can cause issues in recurrent canker sore suffers.
I figured what that heck. Nothing to lose. The mouth ulcers were driving me crazy. So I bought Biotene, which is a formula of toothpaste for dry mouth, and wow! Knock on wood. One month now, no ulcers. The reason for my post is mainly to share this tip to anyone who might have the same issue with canker sores/ulcers and hopefully you can find relief too. Not only does it help dry mouth, which definitely plagues us who smoke E Cig as it is very dehydrating, it also does not have the dreaded additive SLS which is really a bit caustic for a sensitive mouth. Now this might not be new news for some of you, but I wanted to pass along to anyone who might have missed that this could aggravate the issue.
My second reason for posting is to ask - which is better for this ? PG or VG? I have been using Joye PG, but is VG perhaps a better alternative for a person who has suffered from recurrent ulcers after switching to ECigs? I never had these issues with mouth ulcers before, I am convinced it is from the ecig - maybe it isn't and entirely separate - but it seems too big of a coincendence they didnt start til I threw my analogs in the trash and switched.
