It's a shame that with the technology available to us and the proven fact that the things work 1000% better than ANY OTHER SMOKING CESSATION DEVICE ON THE MARKET, that since the right pockets aren't being lined the government wants to step in with their bs about safety.
Safety? Really... that's what they want to go with safety? From the people that allow cigarettes to be consumed in record numbers despite the proven FACTS THAT THEY KILL along with ALCOHOL which is also a POISON, and also proven FACT THAT ALCOHOL KILLS as well causing cirrhosis of the liver and death. Throw in all the pain and messed up families left in the wake of an alcoholic, and yet you can buy and consume that stuff 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Ok then, now on to tobacco cigarettes vs e-cigs. How many toxic and cancerous items are found in tobacco smoke??? Something like 4000 right? In test run on E-Cigs found on average something like 1 or less. Wonder which one is safer?
Don't look me in the face and talk to me about safety as being the reason for the ban, that's just idiotic. Everything in the things is currently in use in everyday food and other things consumed by humans. The e-juice? Ingredients: Propylene Glycol or Vegetable Glycerin for producing the vapor, Lorann Flavor Oils (or similar), nicotine. That's it, not a single thing is burned, no flames, no outrageous chemicals inhaled. The parts in a E-Cig perhaps? I don't think so the only thing that gets hot is the atomizer which is stainless steel which doesn't get hot enough to produce any vapors from the stainless steel or any other component except perhaps the plastic of the filter tip but it doesn't come in contact with that or close enough to melt it.
The bottom line is that the wrong people are making money on this and the "right" people are losing money on them. Who are the two biggest losers if E-Cigs become a rampant success and millions of people start using them and quit smoking tobacco? Off the top of my head I would say first off the obvious, big tobacco stands to lose billions upon billions in today and future sales. We are talking the potential demise of an industry really. It could open the doors to the banning of tobacco. Since you can get your nicotine in a safe and effective way why should tobacco cigarettes be legal anymore? That's the question they don't want anyone asking. The second group to lose big if millions of smokers stop smoking and start living a healthier lifestyle and you won't want to admit it but the health industry stands to lose just as much money as the tobacco industry from the drop in tobacco related health cost and care.
The really scary part of that is that these two groups lose not just this generation of smokers but the next and if the scenario I propose of banning tobacco cigarettes now that we have a safe and effective alternative with E-Cigs then all future generations. RJ Reynolds company execs are crapping in their pants at the thought of that. This ain't about safety it's what it is always about, money and who is making it. Don't get caught up in the wrong argument by asking the wrong question, that's how they have been doing this game since the beginning of time.
OK enough of my rant for now, 2 weeks without a cigarette and I feel GREAT!
