I just got my first kit and I'm eager to try it? Do I need to wait for the battery to charge? The leds light up on the power button. Also how do you tell when they are fully charged?

The light on charger should go green when fully charged.
If battery led lights up it should have power enough to use --BUT--I would charge it as soon as you can.
If you have 2 batts--get the other one on charger

I think most companies recommend charging for a couple of hours before use, regardless of if it says charged or not.
BUT I am not sure it even delivers any power at all if the charger thinks its already charged.

vape one, charge the other. If the other is charged, use that one and charge the first.
I personally didn't mind to wait a few hours.
It was recommended to first charge for 4 hours, regardless of the battery being full or not.
But there seem to be a lot of tips flying around without any science backing it up.

usually they are charged to the 50-60% point for testing/storage before they leave production and assembly. as the cells will not function properly if stored in an uncharged state. should work just fine but dont expect a full usage out of them..
Wow this hits harder than an analog. I got the coughs. Does a light come on if the battery is low and need charged?
eGos will just die once they are discharged. The button might blink a few times to tell you that it is dead, but there is no real warning.
also there are three power levels. green led, blue led, and red led. Just use it at the highest power, red?
The three power levels may be showing you the battery charge status. I thought you got the Ego 900 mah? Where is the power level led?
Also - when using it, take longer slower draws - its a bit different to smoking. If you draw on it like a cigarette it can make you cough.

I ordered 900mah but these batteries look kinda small. I wonder if he sent me 650s? How can I tell? It came with an instruction pamphlet that explains the 3 color levels. You push the button quick three times to change the power output level. I'm just going to use it on high I guess.
What kind of a battery do you have? Is it a variable voltage battery?
It sounds like he sent you a variable voltage Ego. Its not an ego twist, but there is a model that has three voltage settings. 3.2 volts, 3.7 volts, and 4.2 volts.
3.7 volts is a standard voltage. 4.2 will be hotter.
Can you post a couple of pics of it?
Kiwivap is correct. It has three voltage settings. I had a similar battery and liked it. I don't happen to have any 650 batteries, but maybe measure it. Someone here might know.

Most eGos come with a charge in them. They do not have to be fully charged to vape, you can vape out of the box.

Wow, I've actually never seen that eGo before. I've had one like the picture Kiwivap posted, but I've never seen one where the button LED changes.
