With a hybrid you are stuck with the genesis atty on it. With full mech you are stuck with low resistance coil attys. With provari vv, you can slap anything you want on it. If this is going to be your first apv, provari is recommended.
I disagree with this, being an "oldie" with a BB, I've managed to vape rather well with 2-3 ohm atty's on it. Not a "true" mechanical, but close enough.
I own a mechanical. That being said, they are 2 entirely different beast. Other than a battery they really have nothing in common. I can put anything on my mechanical that I want also. They will vape differently. My YJ vv will vape different than my Legacy. If you use a kick with a mechanical, that would be a better comparison. Some mechanicals have a lifetime warranty.
I agree with this. Yes, RBA's add a lot of flexibility to a mechanical, but they certainly aren't the "last word" to be used on them as seems to be the norm around here anymore! Yes, LR produces better on them, but you don't need that, and you don't need a Kick to make them function. Anything around 2 ohms will work, and work rather well on them.
I own the BB as a back up, and it's a remarkable back up! I have a Provari mini as my daily driver, then I have a tin mod that runs on one 18650 as my "night on the town" PV. Yes, the battery does drop off, which doesn't happen with the ProV. But I can make any of them work well, and satisfactorily.
So do you want "simplistic elegance" that "just works", the mechanical that I can respect?
Or adjust ability to make what you have suit your needs at the time, the Provari?
Both can and will do the job, don't buy into the hype either way. It's a matter of what's going to work for you, in the way you want it to work! Are you going to always be able to get the atty's you want from "that vendor" to keep the mechanical happy? If so, go mechanical. Really want to experience the true joy that a Genesis can give? Mechanical.
Want to buy whatever you can get your hands on and vape? Provari.
Want to play with RBA's and not worry if it's right or wrong and have the built in protection cover your ....? Provari.
I don't know how to make it much more simple than that!
