how does one generally set up a dual coil ?

i've came up with this idea...probably it is tried before..
in stead of using a twisted wire..i left the wires side by side,
so the coils are interleaved with each other.

probably needs a lot of maintance though :)
and ribbon would be easier but i like the idea

coil is 1.8ohm - 0.18 NiCr

Yes it's been done and is being done more and more often.
IMO it works much better than twisting the wires. It creates more contact with the wick and uses less wire.

No more so than anything else.

Actually not at all. Ribbon can be a pia to get to lie completely flat against the wick, especially if you have to make any strange turns or bends with the wire leads.
It's easy as pie to get the two wires to lay in place properly.
Good looking coil. Well done! How's the vape?

Nice setup!

Yeap, I have dual coils on my AGA and IGO, really liking them a lot.

This is my AGA :D

it started pretty good, but i think i'll try one with kanthal..
the NiCr seems to expand or something, although i burn it before rolling..
and it fell apart a bit

or my wicks are shrinking

That is a bit of 500 mesh wrapped around the top of a SS rope wick. The wick is 316SS 7*7 strand. Wicking is pretty great, vape is thick and warm but overall I think I'm going back to my 500mesh wick (until my xc-116 gets here! :p). Wicking is great but this SS rope holds a lot of heat.
