Centered by hand using a #73 wire bit and swivel pin vise. Then a #60 wire bit reverse twist initially to clear the groove edges until I could spin the bit forward freely. Then dremel using a bit of vegetable oil as cutting oil. Bit depth set even with the wire hole.

Then drilled straight through the center pin right across at the base. Allows liquid to flow all around.

Depth to the slotted center pin with the body on measures 11mm on my vmod and I was able to use the 510-510 extension adapter from myfreedomsmokes.com . A friend's I did measured 12-13mm to the center of the slotted pin with the body on and needed a longer 510-510 extension adapter I happened to have from avidvaper.com Placed 2 O-rings from a O-ring kit I have. Kit identifies them as r-04

In mine using the MFS adapter I was able to place another O-ring (r-10) inside the adapter to help seal the flow. My friends I couldn't. Would need a thinner o-ring.

Did a SS 400 mesh wick and coil for 2.0 ohms. Changed later to a 3 wrap for 1.3 ohms and works wonderfully.

Very happy. rda keeps body in place though there's the tiniest of space between the two. No leaking. Only thing that would fit the gap IS paper.

Initial 4 wrap of 32 came out to 2.0ohms. A little high for me and a mechanical. Did a 3wrap of 32 for 1.3ohms and that's where I like it. I couldn't tell you the what the voltage drop is. I still haven't invested in that particular meter.

Using 3400 mAh protected Panasonic's and get a solid day and half before vapor production drops below where I like.. I'm a heavy vaper. I went with protected being unfamiliar with mechanical. No one could give me a straight answer but,I noticed vapage batteries are protected so I assumed that's what I wanted. I'm happy with them.

Thanks,I learned that post purchase of everything. The Panasonic's are high quality at least. I know protected can fail too. I have both protected and unprotected 3400Panasonic. Both exploded diagrams of each show built in vent holes but, because of the chemistry make up these vent holes may not be adequate to prevent a serious explosion? Is that right? The IMR make up isn't as volatile when triggered... is my understanding

The Panasonic Hybrids ARE IMR but also offer additional protection (not sure if they have a circuit too, but I know they go aboce standard IMR)

More info here: CGR18650CH Panasonic 18650 Li-Mn-Li-ion CGR18650CH High Drain 10A Rechargeable IMR Hybrid Battery Cell

That specific model is all i buy nowadays (although I will be getting soe Sony Li-on 30 AMP soon)

You can buy a 4-pack of these for 22 dollars + shipping at amazon, here: Amazon.com: 4pcs Panasonic CGR18650CH 3.6 Volt Li-ion Battery 2250 mAh: Everything Else

I do not know how each specific model fails, but I have not read yet about any AW IMR or Panasonic batt exploding or hurting someone (at least I'm not aware of anyone)

Nice modding job Eddie.

That gold squid looks cute on the green XL.

I've done good with the CGR18650CH. They sure have become popular. What has perplexed me is that it was announced they weren't going to be made anymore some months ago, but they now seem to be everywhere. If anyone reading has a clue what's up with that, I'd love to know.

I've never even seen them in 18500.

I purchased a assorted kit from eBay. You want BUNA rated. The dimensions are above in post #14. The kit was way too many of sizes I'll never need. Depending on the 510 adapter you purchase you may want 1/8x1/4x1/16 or for the avidvaper 510 adapter 1/8x1/4x1/32 for INSIDE the adapter.
The size that goes on the outside of whatever 510 adapter you use is in post #14...

Eddie, I'm about to do the same thing with a different RDA - many thanks for posting this. It is exactly what I needed to see before doing it myself :thumb:

I've been looking for a kit of assorted small O-rings and have not found anyone yet that will sell to the public. Where do you get yours from?
Ryedan, I'm not sure if you have Harbor Freight up in cold country, but if you do, I picked up an assortment kit of metric o rings for about $5.00. It has about 300 of different sizes. It has come in handy for me in using them in rebuilds.

Many thanks Eddie. Never thought of eBay and I should have. I've bought enough things there over the years!
