Have you tried a lower nic content maybe 12mg. When I started over six years ago I used v2 but 18mg was too much for me even in a cigalike, had to dilute it. I was a 2+pad smoker of Winston/ Marlboro lights. It sounds like either the vapor is too hot, nic is too strong, or you can't handle that...

I buy batteries on sale and keep them in my crisper drawer in the fridge. Just pulled two out that I bought in May 0f 2016. I let them sit out a day before fully charging and they work fine. I keep 30 in rotation and usually only use each one about twice a month, never had a problem.
