This is incredibly irresponsible. You don't know this persons soldering skills and being that it is their first DIY mod it really isn't something they should be trying. A good Keystone holder with good contacts and the proper gauge wire will work at over 50w easily.

I've had really good luck with this switch.. Invalid Request It says Invalid Request but the link works. It does this with all links to DigiKey.

Could be switch or cold solder joint. I had the same problem and mine was switch. Replaced switch and all was good to go.

No, with the DNA30 the board doesn't allow much current to flow to the switch. Very much like a mosfet.

You're okay. The SX350 or the DNA30 don't pass the current through the switch. Maybe 50-100mA at the most.

A little loctite will solve that problem.

You may have problems using these for wattage adjustment buttons as they are quite large. Would probably work fine as a fire button.

Actually, it's actually shorter than my Hammond 1590b box.
