  • Hey puck. Thanks for your tutorials here and on your site. I threw my puck together last night using 2 aa boxes, but for some reason when i press the fire button my batts just get hot. And i mean very very hot after only a 2 second button press. Any idea whats wrong? I checked and double checked my wiring, but no dice. Thanks
    HI Puck! :)
i discovered the puckmod yesterday, and i'm so faschinated! i ever trusted in ni-mh and didn't understand why these batteries are not used in MOD or box mod today.
if i understood, the puck use 4 AA or AAA, but you use 4 AAA, the small ni-mh. their dimensions are ok for a box mod bottomfeeder just like reo, but with the advantages of ni-mh.
    what do you think?

P.s. now there are batteries 5V 17650 ni-mh for big batteries... absurd..
Hello Puck. Made two pucks yesterday, one is for high volts using a step down little board I bought off ebay and it came from china. Had to modify it so the cover went back on but works great, I used two 4xAA for this one and the second one I used a 3xAA. It works also. I'm only using three batteries till I can get some higher ohm hardware in. The high volt one I have set at 4.2volts and it adds so much flavor and the drags are only 3-4 seconds long Awesome is all I can say. Thanks to you I would have never thought of these pucks. Thank you so much for the Idea. Later my friend
    Puck,
Just wanted to add my thanks also for your amazing idea, tutorial and for sharing it with the rest of the VapeVerse!

I made my first Puck using two 3 AAA boxes (wired 2 slots in the control box for batts and used 1 slot for switch and 510 atty connector). Working on my 2nd, 2 4AAA boxes and a VV kit from MadVapes.

I hope you don't mind; but I put a link to your tutorial in my ECF signature. So whenever I post here I'm spreading the word.
Sir, just wanted to thank you so much for the very user-friendly tutorial on The Puck. I've been browsing through ECF for sometime now, but am not really active in messages, just reading threads mostly :) With your tutorial, it'll be the first time that I'll try my hand in making one myself. I've always known that NiMH batteries can be a very safe power alternative to our e-cigs (and cost effective). I just didn't know how it could be done. Thanks to your tutorial, it'll be easy :)

    Regards,
    Dan
