mini 50W to mech mod idea

So my Smowell 50W mini mod is junk. I've contacted them and they say I have to go threw seller; seller says ship it back for replace or refund but I could buy another for the cost of shipping so I'm thinking about turning it into a mech mod.

For anybody wondering the screen glitched out then all black but I was still able to use it. After that it autofired and burnt out a occ coil and aperently the board in it. I tried a bunch of stuff but no sign of life.

This little mod was perfect size for me at work.

Here is what I have





I've taken measurements and come up with a basic setup that should easily fit in place of the old chip. (I realized after uploading I forgot to put a resistor on the MOSFET)


Or if it will fit (think it will but would be tight fit) with a charging board.


I would most likely epoxy the bottom buttons in place.

Any input welcome. I'm planning to order parts soon.

I'm assuming the 3034 MOSFET is still the best choice for this project.
Or should I look for a different one?

Don't know about the mosfet but if nothing else you have a lot of good parts for using on other builds,I'v never thrown anything away always taken a part what ever and saved the parts for using on building mods.
