All the Orbtronics batteries are rewraps, they don't produce their own cells.

They have cells produced for them under contract and put their labels on them. That's not the same as rewrapping other peoples batteries. Many of their batteries are unique designs, such as their SX-22 which is a 22A continuous discharge battery.

Pretty sure it's not actually a 30a battery either.

Not only is it a true 30A battery but under testing it's superior to the VTC4. It's also larger diameter than the VTC4 so some mods have trouble fitting them.

That's literally rewrapping batteries. The SX-22 is a rewrapped Samsung 20R, the ORB25 is a rewrapped Samsung 25R, and the SX30 is a rewrapped VTC4.

The diameter is larger because they're using thicker wrappers.

SX-22 = IMR ( lithium-manganese)
25/25R = INR ( lithium-nickel-manganese)

The batteries are chemically different.

And if you think that Orbtronic is using a wrapper that is more than .5mm thick you've obviously never actually seen one. The SX30 is up to a full mm thicker than a VTC4.

Yes, they do have some batteries that are just rewraps. And those batteries say they are rewraps in the description. For example...

18650 NCR18650PF Panasonic IMR 2900 mAh Li-ion Battery button top by Orbtronic

It clearly states it's a Panasonic NCR18650. Not only in the description, but it lists it under the manufacturer and even in the website address.

The SX22 and SX30 do not have such a listing though. They're different. They're manufactured for Orbtronic to Orbtronic specs under contract. They aren't simply rewraps, they're custom made batteries.

Which is why the SX30 has a longer discharge rate than the VTC4. Same specs, but put both of them in the same mod and hold the button down and the VTC4 will drop voltage faster than the Orbtronic.

The Panasonics are labeled as rewraps now, they weren't when they were first selling them as amazing new battery tech.

All their high drain batteries are labeled as IMR despite it not being strictly correct.

Half the "IMR" batteries being sold today aren't even true IMR anyway.

Vaping retailers are fond of snake oil, confusion, and misinformation, it's hardly new at this point.
