Definitely check out the Golbin thread.
It's all comes down to the wicking once you have working coils. I'd stick to 26 gauge and no larger than 2.7mm internal coil diameter.
Keep the wicks short and up against the the liquid channels. Make sure the wicks are not touching the air inlets. Put your chimney barrel over the wicks without screwing it down to see how the wicks fit. I find that it's easier to check if it's dry. If too much wick is protruding past the threads when the chimney barrel is placed over the deck you have to readjust. You want a little bit of wick at the tops of each channel. Once you're satisfied and put the chimney over and catch a thread it should thread down smoothly.
