RDA Question for Derringer owners: Spit back

I just picked up a Derringer clone (5 rings) and copper SMPL clone from AC. It's a sweet looking little combo, but I can't get over the amount of spit back I'm getting. Does anyone with experience with this rda have a solution? I'd rather not use a longer drip tip, as the small overall size of the setup is what I was going for. I've tried a 26ga 2mm 7-wrap dual and a 24ga 5/32" 5-wrap vertical dual, and tried both KGD and rayon. Am I doomed simply due to the small stature of this thing?

I just put my coils close to the air hole, far from the posts and never had any spit back.

I have a single coil 26g 2.4mm coil in mine. Put it close to the air holes. Only time I get spit back is if I over drip.

Thanks guys! Duh I should have thought of that Just threw a fresh microcoil build in there and positioned them as close as possible to the air holes; problem solved. I love how cool of a vape this rda provides despite its small size. With a .20 ohm build it's got above average flavor and vapor production. Nice little atty and it looks so awesome on the SMPL.

I've been dealing with this too, so far my solution has been to not draw too hard, I don't lung hit anyways so not a huge deal for me. I'll have to move my coil further out next build and see how that goes.

I just ordered that same thing. Does it have angled air holes? And is the center post plated?

I actually find the opposite helps. For me, spitting occurs if the coil is underpowered, not getting enough air, or over juiced. Pulling harder will often eliminate spitting.

I can't tell if the air holes are angled, I'll have to get up close when I get home today. The center post is plated though.

I've got an authentic from the second batch and this only happens if I drip a lot into it and/or don't let it sit long enough to absorb.

I have the authentic 1.2. I found spitting when there is not enough cotton in the coil (DNA40 with TC mode).

I get that when I over-drip. Try a couple fewer drops.

only when i over-drip and i run huge 3mm dual coils that take up a ton of space.

Just got mine today. Running single 24 g kanthal coil, .7 ohms, cant remember if its 3mm or the #0 screwdriver but i soaked the wick big time and havent had any spit back issues. Using it mostly with 2/3 air holes open

rebuilt today, placing the coil as far out as possible, no spit back so far. I am getting a lot of condensation in the drip tip, but I had that before too. Still loving this atty, easiest builds I've ever done, and the flavor is outstanding, great vapor too.
