think of it as an unregulated mosfet box with this as an addon to the mosfet

only question to ask can you really say your adjusting voltage with this? As I understand it controls the amount of power delivered according to the duty cycle.

I also see the new 555 timers using 8.4 volts and I feel that takes up build space.

You can definitely tell your adjusting the voltage. And 8.4 volts is just your basic series box so the only more space your using is for the pcb which isn't all that big. Maybe 1 inch square

im looking to run a 555 in my new lipo mod. your right the box modders group is where its at,, theres a lot of smart guys there. have you been using one yet?

Yup one of my first boxes was a 3s Lipo. Search mouser for se555 it will accept voltage from 4.5v to 18v

Nothing changes in the diagram just change sled + and - to the lipos

Nope, if your Lipo is 3s then you have 12.6v down to minimum you turn it down to.. but I wouldn't go below 4.5 or you'll pop the timer

The potentiometer adjusts the voltage so min/max is based on your voltage
