1. ECF Veteran...registered at ECF for how long (a day, a week, a month, a year, a decade)?

One year and at least 75 posts.

2. Is there a "list" somewhere that explains what Ultra Member, Super Member, ECF Guru, etc. signifies?

There is--want me to look it up?

I think you can do that by "Following" them. Hover on your user name, upper right, go to "People You Follow" link, add them, then, not sure about this (haven't actually "followed" anybody yet), but I think it shows up in your "Alerts" when they post something. Also, in the same box is "Alert Preferences," where you can uncheck "Likes Received" to stop getting alerts for those.
Sorry, mis-communication here. I was using the term "Friends" now called people I follow. I get everything they do. And I don't care if they change moods or like something.

And I like seeing when someone acknowledges my posts, likes my posts. I don't want to not see those.

What I'm asking is: in the old format, I can go to my profile and click a tab that showed all posts from my friends. Is there an equivalent to that here and now?

No. None that I'm aware anyway. I've checked.

Is there a 'how to' for closing a thread in the classifieds? Probably simple, and I'm just missing it.

Go to your first post. You should see a check box in the lower left corner. Check the box and you should see a tool pop up that allows you to close the thread.
