There's a different "sweet spot" for everyone, so I can't tell you what's the perfect setting for you...that being said I'd start out about 4 volts or 8 watts and slowly go up a little bit at a time until you get what you like. If you get a burnt taste, you went too far just back off the power a bit. You can also use the airflow adjustment to control how much juice you're pulling onto your coil. It's kind of like a balancing act. When you've got that airflow wide open you're pulling more air and less juice into the coil. Closed off and you're pulling more juice and less air. Try a bunch of different positions and see what you like best. Happy Vaping! :vapor:

Yes, sort of... and that's why the usual recommendation is to start low and work up to taste.

While you probably can't actually burn out the coil - kanthal is pretty rugged - you can scorch other parts inside. Insulators, wick... and that nasty taste is pretty much impossible to get rid of, requiring a new head in your topper.

So just start low, take it up in steps until the flavor starts to go bad, and back off the last step or two.

ok ill try to figure it out, im just new iv been using the variable voltage batterys from kanger never used a box mod or anything but the basic stuff

Deathfox, Sure, there is. But there is also a point at which your liquid can burn and that can be different for different flavors and PG/VG ratios. So starting low and working your way up will help you find that point for whatever it is that you're vaping. You definitely don't want to turn the MVP all the way up, it will fry the coil almost instantly. So, start low and turn it up little by little.

Same idea, DF. VV and VW are just different ways to get to the same point. VW changes the volts automatically to adjust to different value coils, so you don't have to do it manually when you change toppers.
what tank/atomizer would be good to use the full capicty of the mvp 3.0 since it goes to 30 watts if the 1.8ohmz can go up to 11 or so? could you recommend one

Using the "full capacity" isn't required, finding the right combination of air flow, resistance and power to give YOU a satisfactory vape and NOT SMOKE is the bottom line :)

Do you run your car at red-line all the time? Yes, you can, but it's service life will be greatly reduced.

But something like the Kanger Sub-tank Mini would do well on that.
