Lessifer, that about sums it up. I can't wait for this year's SG report. What can they add in terms of blaming smoking/tobacco/vaping for to insure they can keep the epidemic growing. They've now covered all internal organs, where else to go?

I read that as "Even though smoking rates are down, our TC masters are worried about making the mortgage payments on their summer homes, so we want you to go after smokeless tobacco now, and you need to spend 6x more money to do it."

Yep, here's the Money quote from the discussion:

However, during 2015, despite combined revenue of more than $25 billion from settlement payments and tobacco taxes for all states, states will spend only $490.4 million (1.9%) on comprehensive tobacco-control programs,†† representing <15% of the CDC-recommended level of funding for all states combined (3). Full implementation of comprehensive tobacco control programs at CDC-recommended funding levels, in conjunction with the Food and Drug Administration regulation of tobacco products, could further reduce all forms of tobacco use (3).

TC wants their other $3.5 Billion of dirty, nasty smokers money that they were promised.

:shock::facepalm:

the CDC has already lumped us in with with the
snus users. smoking rates at a historic low but
tobacco use rising because of e-cigarettes.
we are just tobacco users now.
i expect this template to continue in the future.
a year from know they will not be talking about
snus or e-cigs nor cigars. we all will be one big happy
family of tobacco users.
you know tobacco is bad for you, right?

It's kind of ironic that vaping has enabled so many people to kick the smoking habit but nothing seems to help the TC crowd kick the anti habit. Maybe Big P could develop gum or a patch for that...

Maybe they should all just get a prescription for Chantix. :w00t:

4th hand smoke. The dangers of holding a baby who's been playing in 3rd hand smoke.

A little birdie told me this release passed by the senates hearing last month. They okay'd it with a grin. (Funding & arguments) They liked the part where it lacks data supporting the facts that smoking is way down BECAUSE of vaping. ECig use is climbing, that's all that matters to the MSA sluts.

The only reason CDC issued that report was to demonize smokeless tobacco (which has helped several million primarily rural white males to quit smoking), to deceive the public to believe that very low risk smokeless tobacco is just as hazardous as cigarette smoking, and to discourage smokers from switching (a process the CDC refers to as "dual use" and "concurrent use").

Of course, the CDC failed to cite BRFSS data on the nation's leading cause of disease and death, finding the US daily smoking rate declined from 15.4% in 2011 to 13.4% in 2013 (a 13% decline in just two years)

To further promote CDC’s propaganda, CDC's Brian King and Big Pharma financed ALA’s Norm Edelman demonized very low risk smokeless tobacco
