It really is time for a revolution in America. We're gonna have to just get rid of the ENTIRE gov't and start over, disallowing ANYONE who was in gov't previously (who may either be dead or imprisoned at that point, as they should be).

Vive le revolution!

Since the FDA's deeming regulation would ban the manufacture and sale of ALL bottles of nicotine containing e-liquid, there is no reason (other than further confuse, scare and lobby for the deeming regulation) for FDA to float a proposal to require child resistant packaging and warning labels on ALL bottles of e-liquid.

I recall having to point out to people that "liquid nicotine" is not the same as "nicotine containing e-liquid." One is commonly used to refer to higher concentrations of nicotine, intended to be diluted before use. With this proposal that distinction disappears. That's one way to retroactively make your statements "true."

"1 tablespoon of nicotine liquid can kill you." Since nicotine liquid now covers everything from 1mg/ml to 999mg/ml, that statement is now true.

There are people dying of water intoxication after drinking only about 6 liters of water in a sitting. This is frightening. The word 'intoxication' is generally used in reference to alcohol, and hence is normalizing alcohol abuse. It could result in children dying trying to "get drunk" off water. Obviously, water is a toxin. The FDA needs to act NOW and apply warning labels and child-resistant caps to all bottles of drinking water to protect our children.

Strange but True: Drinking Too Much Water Can Kill - Scientific American

A smart ... and facetious way of saying that toxicity is in the size of the dose....

Alternatively, one might take this as a sign that the deeming regulation (which we've still not seen the final text of) might NOT "ban the manufacture and sale of ALL bottles of nicotine containing e-liquid".

It could be a 'sign' of a lot of things. Just off the top of my head:

The FDA thinks the new grandfather date might pass the House and the new Republican majority Senate - and want 'something' for child proofing/labeling in place.

It could mean that the deeming is a no-go at OMB.

Or that the deeming and the science is so bad that some court would throw out the whole thing using 'our guys' science - ie. They know we're right and don't want the court cases to follow. Or Zeller doesn't want to lose his job over it.

Or as Bill suggests - to confuse the opposition and scare the public once more - and help the lobbying efforts to stop the new grandfather date or complete the deeming as is.

Sorry FDA my eliguid supplier already has CRP, and warnings about Kids and Poision info.
Now lets get to the real issue Taxes and Punishment for Irresponsible Parents that leave Dangerous Substances where kids can get into them. This Punish the Masses while the Guilty Go Free Is BS in the First Degree.
I have lost all faith in our 'medical professionals' and the ability of our 'govment' to do anything! Except Steal From The Poor And Give To The Rich!

One scenario - one I think that is unlikely - is that the FDA thinks they've lost the battle on deeming (or on the grandfather date) and are pushing the minimal, near standard stuff on child proof packaging - for those few vendors that still don't have it.
Or perhaps this is nothing but an attempt at distraction from the real impact of the deeming...
Hey guys, the regulations aren't going to be all that bad, really!!

EDIT: Crap, posted before reading the second page of this thread
EDIT: So yeah, what Bill said
