No problem at present, since the present computer has plenty of space. If I decide to severely crimp spending this month and get that refurb Wal-mart deal, I will probably end up using this one for writing, and the other for recreation, thus sidestepping any attempts at breaking into those files, and any limitations of the fun laptop. I have 76% free space on my hard drive. LOL. I am getting to the point of frustration with telephone communication that video chat is very enticing. Hopefully the external audio card I am expecting in a few days will suffice for now. I have told my family that this is going to be my preferred means of communication for anything other than short phone-calls.

My low-end Kindle is extremely inconvenient to use for anything other than reading, and I am satisfied with it.

Do you have internet voice and or hearing yet ? :D

Hmmm......sounds awfully familiar to me.

Invisibility and loneliness , whats wrong with that ?
I used to go walk around and not get approached but now the charity people come up to you and start talking. Just leave the can on the table and I'll put some money in ( which will hopefully actually go to something/someone in need and not mostly be used for administration etc.

Thank you Iffy, unfortunately, my bride lost her battle 11 months after her cancer was discovered. It will be 3 years ago this coming Sunday. Tuesday would have been (was) our 26th anniversary. It seems like it was just yesterday. Sorry, I have been a bundle of emotions.
Diver, you have my condolences on your loss. I truly believe we will see them again so keep spirits up and look towards that future while enjoying this one. Great work on the turning. I am jealous.

Good Morning. Look who is bright eyed and bushy tailed again this morning. Been up since 6. Was not near as sore as I thought I would be this morning from all I did yesterday. Been awhile since I've done so much at one time. The o'l girl can still git-r-done.

Happy Friday to all and a big hug to everyone. Isn't life
wonderful?

Nope, I still have no link with speakers or "earbuds". I can communicate by microphone, but choose not too, unless there are only three people in chat. I end up talking over people or not coordinating well with the current topic.

At St. Paul, so possibly today, more likely Monday.

Finally spent some time in my workshop today. I haven't really done any work in it since we started all of the chemo and trips to the Dr for my wife's cancer. I guess that has been more than 3 years or more. Felt lonely out there and missed coming in and hearing her positive exclamations on my endeavors. I made her a matching set of pen, pencil and letter opener out of Zebrawood. I made sure all the blanks were matching. She came home from the office and ask me to make her another pen. Silly me, I ask why and she told me a client came in and really liked her pen so she gave it to the client. I made a replacement. About a week later we were on one of our many weekend motorcycle rides and we came across a little shop that had some woodturning crafts. She saw how much they wanted for a pen that wasn't even as good as I could turn. She never gave away one of her pens after that. Sorry, trip down memory lane.

Man-hug {{{diver}}} - that was a nice 'memory-story' about your wife. Good to remember those times even though it stirs up the loss. Lost but not forgotten keeps the spirit and love alive for those no longer with us.

Good morning, Porchers!
coffeecupflower.jpg

Sorry I haven't been too visible on the thread, but the RW is keeping me so busy that the computer has taken a back seat.
Each morning, we're up pretty early, but by the time I get on the pc around 9ish, things start to get busy again around here.
My apologies for not posting personals.......already have to get going!! :(

In spite of all that, I'm going to make an honest attempt at H/O tonight. Think my last time on H/O was Tuesday, and that is not acceptable to me! I miss my Porch family a lot!!

Had sort of an adopted Uncle who used to keep my car on the road, I'd take it in and tell him you can't let it die yet! Then he died. :( My sorta brother was lookin at it one day some time after that, and couldn't figure out what was wrong......told mama, I don't know what to do for her, cept dig Earl up, and kick his .... for dyin on her!!
From what I've heard, that usually works. Might want to wait 'til nighttime to do it, 'cause, ya know, the neighbors like to talk. Of course his name was Earl. Of course.

this one I'm using doesn't have one,

I don't have one either and don't miss it. What bothers me about the suggested setup is the Celeron chip set. Part of my IT job was buying computers for the casino and I got many complaints if the boss and the budget made me go with Celeron. If it is at all possible to get the Intel i3 that would be a good thing. JMHO

I can honestly say I know some of what you feel. I lost my sister to a tumor.
The pain will never go away, you just get used to it.
