I said I was gonna do it, and I did.

24 gauge
8 wraps
.75 ohm
JOC ponytail wick
30 watts

Throws very respectable cloudage, but those giant posts just block too much air, methinks. Flavor is a little dark, missing the bright notes this atty normally does so well. Spent more time grooming the wick than I did vaping, I think.

Maybe a center vertical coil?:w00t: Not.

Hey, it was entertaining.

What about dropping that diameter? Should give you room for a bit more air.

Yeah, that was the plan. This one is 3 mm / 8 wraps. I was considering dropping to 2.5 mm / 6 wraps. But honestly, the flavor with horizontal duals of almost any size is so much better than what I tasted that I decided to skip it. Airflow matters, and the Velocity is perfect for me when used exactly the way it was designed to be used. Which is what I thought I would find - I'm just surprised how striking the difference was.

Magaro, were you achieving decent flavor with the configuration?

Not really - I mean, it wasn't bad, but all of the NETs I dripped on it tasted different. And not in a good way. One-dimensional is the best way I can describe it. Dark and heavy - not by a ton, but very noticeable. I played with coil height, airflow, wick material and wick profile, and nothing really seemed capable of getting me back to my usual Velocity performance.

My single coil build while ago
22g @ 0.3
Vapour 8/10
Flavor 5/10
I still love my velocity on dual coil setup
I just cant get the flavor out of single coil build

Turbo, the stumpy is everything you'd expect in a 22mm chalice. Except the fasteners kill that of the chalice. And it's short. YOU need one brother. Any you are correct about center coil both sides AFC. It puts this bad boy WAY over the top.

gotta get one. lately I've been looking at other atties to see what can also be run with one center coil. a lot of atties can do it with just a shortened center post. I've been runnin the nuppins with all 3 airholes open center coiled and now I did a big block 454 which has 4 air inlets and that works really good with the center coil too. here's a big block 454, 4 inlets with a single 22 ga and 27 ga dual parallels :)

I cut the top of the bb454 down a bit, shaved down the big heat sink looking head to reduce the weight and size, it really works good like this, was just a paper weight before but now modded for a single it kicks azz :)

I'm sure there are many other atties that tom could do a short center post in to allow running a single center coil, truth is it wouldn't stop you from running the more conventional builds you'd do otherwise really, so no real drawback to a short center post on atties that can do this :)
