the transformer coil is similar to the juggernaut coil and is a good upgrade from a fused clapton imo

Just didn't want the wick to dry out too quickly. Each drag goes around 4-5 seconds, smallest vent opening.

Hybrid 28ga Kanthal / 26ga Ni200 twisted wire. 12 wraps around 3mm. 0.13 ohms on my Velocity. I tried for a dual coil, but the resistance was just too low. It still has surprisingly good flavor with only a single coil in dual airflow mode (since the Velocity doesn't have a single airflow option). I probably should have done 28ga Kanthal with 30 gauge Ni200, but I wanted a little more heat from a larger wire. I'm still happy enough. And this is my first hybrid coil, and so far, so good. Temp control seems to be working on my IPV4. Vaping it at 440 degrees at 40J, and dripping a new Strawberry Shortcake juice that I've been working on. It's good stuff.

8 wrap spaced 28 gauge ni200 coil with around a 3mm ID I think. Wrapped on a screw to get even spacing.
It's simple but works well for me.

Uh yeah, not doing that?? Lol. I've never seen anyone do that before. Half of your coil is burning hotter than the other because there's no wick or juice in it. And I would think the end of the cotton stuck in halfway would be more likely to dry out and burn because it's touching a hotter part of the coil.

Yeah. Didn't like the fused spaced much. Regular clapton lightly spaced ok in a tank but yeah, more spitting.

Finally had some time to wrap claptons. Had to give that "Transformer" coil a try.

28ga zipper fused with 34ga, 5/4 wraps on 3mm, 0.15Ω

Staple Clapton. 8 pieces of 0.5x1mm ribbon kanthal a1 stacked and wrapped in 36ga nichrome80. Didn't make a long enough piece for 6 wraps each so could only do 5 each. Came in a 0.133ohm on a 3mm bit and at 100w is an amazingly warm dense vape in my vector.
