Hahaha...That's the same way my cat is! Well one of them, the other doesn't go outside at all. And I know I FOR SURE would not be getting up that early if I didn't have to! Lucky you! :)

Well I decided to let her out; poor kitty was going nuts. The radar isn't showing anything near us, so maybe she'll be in, this evening, before it even decides to rain. No idea why she'd rather be out in 90 degree heat instead of 76 degree AC, but.. she's a cat. :D

I remember reading about Gummy bear inventing a carto tank. Is this the one your talking about? I have read ecf for 6 years.

Wow...that was FAST!

Yep, it was Gummy Bear.

He created the first cartomizer tank, which needless to say...he should have patented it.

One of the single greatest vaping inventions to date!

We all have juice tanks because of his invention.

Anybody wanna guess why the 510 connector is the standard of all connectors?
It was pretty easy to make similarly threaded stuff out of Radio Shack parts. IIRC you could make one out of RCA adapters or something.

Edit: RIP 901 threading.

Where can I get one of those?

...Oh wait, I forgot, I had one and decided it wasn't worth all the trouble and got rid of it. :)

I think I got the raw end of my divorce! I got rid of the ex, but ended up with caring for my ex mother in law

Shek, I thought it was the MAP tank (Mad Angry Pirate) that invented the carto tank.

I'd have to look at the invention date of the MAP tank, but I'm pretty sure that Gummy's was first. It's difficult to recall that far back but I think that Gummy was originally working on an atomizer tank (before cartos were invented).

Nobody ever succeeded making one though but there were many attempts...all of which failed miserably because the nickel foam wouldn't hold juice well enough to regulate proper juice flow to the wick and it would flood instantly.

Gummy had the idea of using poly-tubing as the tank and then using rubber gaskets on both ends. I can't recall the name of the actual gasket, but if I remember right (?), he pulled it out of his sink faucet.

I'd have to go waaaaay back and look, wonder if the thread is even still here now?

Pretty accurate graph, shows you exactly what year vaping started to take off.

It was the year that China transitioned from Ego batteries to variable voltage mods; 2012.

And the two most well know to have established this trend in China was the L-Rider V1 Lavatube (Volcano invention [USA]) and the Smoktech V2 Zmax (previously the Vmax).

Shortly thereafter came the global hit, the V2 Vamo. (Probably the highest gross sales of all-time.)

These 3 devices quite literally set the stage for VV/VW device manufacturing in China.

But many USA-made devices were already available, just really expensive. (Provari, BuzzPro, Darwin, etc)

But it was USA modders that made the first VV devices...starting waaaay back in 2008.
I just posted a new thread about my thoughts on that article you might like  or might hate
I just needed to vent and didn't want to do it on this thread ;)

I made my first ever mod using a 901 connector and a 10440 battery. This is back when modding was really beginning to shape vaping.

My first really sweet mod, also using a 901 connector, using a modder's tutorial...also here. [Cisco's laser mod.]

It was just a genius invention lemme tell ya....LOVED this thing! (made in 2009)

When Cisco made that tutorial...I was all over it!

I really miss the "modding years" cuz honestly, it was like watching a whole new industry take form where hundreds of everyday people were constantly making new inventions and trying to make our stuff better.

But the best part was that everyone SHARED their knowledge for free and helped each other make these killer mods.

It was truly the most enjoyable couple years of vaping....in history.

It was just amazing....some of the inventions that came out of those couple years was nothing less than astounding.

One of them was Raidy:

All my mods part1 | E-Cigarette Forum

Even though Raidy was a genius inventor and most of his creations were just astounding, to put it lightly, he was stingy and wouldn't share how to build them. He would just tease everyone by posting images....

I admired his inventions though, but it's too bad that nothing came of them...really a shame.
