Kanger Sub Tank Mini = Check Atomizer

I just bought the Kanger Subtank mini for my friend and the main reason I purchased this tank was because you can rebuild coils as well as insert prebuilt OCC coils. He is new to building so i thought this would be a perfect gift. So I own a box mod IPV2 and i forget what he owns but its a similar wider box mod that is 50 watts. We have tried the RTA on both mods and both say "Check Atomizer" it seems to screw in fine and I cant find any issues. Im posting a few pictures to try to make sure its not on our end and not the manufacture. I have heard this problem occurs a lot and have seen some hacks with wire to make to work but I would like the tank to work as promised when I bought it

Any ideas ??? Would really like to not buy coils all the time for this tank

do you get the same thing with the OCC coil? or only the rba head?

No but if you can see from the pics I can tell there is a major gap issue. I have been watching reviews and videos and the RBA or RTA or whatever part screws down a lot further

Heres a prime example from a video that shows it fully screwed into the bottom base. I have a huge gap in the pictures that I have posted and im not sure why but im very upset because I cant return it to the store and dont know how to fix this problem

Someone in a video said to try to unscrew the bottom portion with an allen key 2 turns or until it works. I never have tried this but clearly from this picture above and the pictures I posted you can tell my section is not screwing down all the way

I have the v1 rba. What's up with that Phillips head screw on the chimney? Mine does not have that.

I would back that sucker out and see if it screws on. I may be wrong but that screw looks like it doesn't belong there, but as I said I have v1 rba.

Yea man Its part of the mini version. I did a lot of reviews and was hoping this tank as legit. I contacted Kanger myself and am hoping to have an explanation.

The v2 rba section has a screw at the base. The chimney doesn't screw on, it's held in place by that screw.

It looks/sounds like the center post on the bottom is not screwed in all the way. Try loosing and then tightening it. I bet it is sticking out further than it should.

You can compare the length with a pre-built and compare.

Are the new in stock tanks coming with the "new" style RBA?

This happened with mine as well. All it took was me pressing the 510 connector on the base of the tank against a table. Seems the RBA deck was a micron shorter than the coils were, and pressing the bottom of the 510 up made it connect. Haven't had it happen since, and it was about 2 months ago.

Went back to the store and they gave me a free RTA base and it works perfectly. It was a manufacture error and the thread count on the defective one was missinga couple threads.
