What's wrong with canned soup?:unsure:
Sorry.

NOTHING wrong with canned! I bought canned tomato, mushroom, vegetable and clam
chowder for after-extraction babying. I'm still alive. Just thought I'd not feel like doing
anything scratch afterward. (I did add a can of minced clams and an extra couple of table-
spoons of butter to the chowder.)

And no "sorry" in Snails, LVM.

I note she uses the root and stem ends of the onions. ??? I have always thrown those out.
So do I. Too hard to clean in today's mass produced food-stuff market. OK to throw them out. You can use them in stews for "flavor" if you're going to remove them later. Otherwise, I'd avoid on modern-principal. They're 'chewy'. Just :2c:

I suppose if they are going to be cooked (in one way or another) for almost
an HOUR, they would tenderize. I've thrown them out because of anticipated
toughness. And maybe for appearance.

Oh, and (not to leave anyone out!) German Food is good too...

The one ... ONE... excellent German restaurant here in Crotchfester closed many years
ago. Truly sorry to see it go. NOTHING has replaced it. Nothing.

What else we do not have here is a GOOD Polish (or even Slavic) restaurant. 1/2 of me is
from that stock. The neighbourhood where I grew up was brimming with those places,
but no longer. It's a niche which could be filled. Have to travel to Buffalo to get anywhere
near good Polish food. Even then, it's fairly "American"ized.

LUV my onions and garlic, and basil and parsley and and and.........

Fran, sure hope it's an easy fix!
Yes to garlic for sure; and basil! I can live without parsley. I enjoy a little tarragon, though, with chicken.

Don't care for them at all. Peppers either. They don't agree with my constitution.
DD will peel an onion and eat it raw, just like my mom. Blech!
Oh my! UmmmUmmm, love'em saute' with steak ... potato's ... just about anything ;)
