The thermometer has to travel in there though since it is electronic and has a battery. Actually I had to put the main unit in the hand luggage and the probe in the check-in since it is a sharp, pointed instrument!

Yep - almost all set- just a few hours to go before we leave. This is what I am mostly looking forward to - quality time with my daughter's family on her little property
