Nope, I never noticed that and basically all I use is 24-26g N80...I wick with organic cotton mostly, although tried Japanese cotton and didn't like it much..
A couple times I noticed a little black on the wicks but that was caused by vaping a dry hit at fairly high wattage.. (80w+)
Never seen them turn red or purple though...

I use 22g tried it with multiple wicking materials it doesn't really cause a problem it just bothers me ha. It's not like it's burning it just changes even after a few vapes with fresh coil and cotton :s
Yeah pretty sure it's a UK website and they've never let me down before. They sell g plat and royal wire etc and lots of other legit vape gear.
What juice you using? Some colorings, sweeteners, even acidic liquids like cinnamon, banana, or citric flavors could be causing chemical reactions in the coil wire. I've had several liquids do this to me and I quit using them, if the doing that to metal and leeching into the wicking, WTH is it doing in my lungs, know what I'm sayin...
See this is it I've tried loads of juices through it diy juices and premium, I can't see it being down to all the juices I've tried having a certain ingredient in them. Yeah I get what you mean, I'm also very in depth with everything involving my vape, it's the best way to be!
It's your juice. I use N80 in all my drippers and have seen red and even green wicks. Just about every flavor of juice I bought at one B&M I used to frequent turned my wicks red and left a red residue in my drip tip. Since I started DIY though, I never get a discoloration.
Not really, but I have limited experience. Your wick is more prone to messing with flavor.
If you want more flavor, you can use N80 in a clapton build. Use all N80, or use it for the base wire and wrap a small gauge kanthal around it.
I wonder if I got some bad n80, I bought a spool of 28ga from lightning vapes to try and every coil I wrap regardless or size or # of wraps comes out to .3-.5

Because of its lower resistance. If you use a VW mod, it wont really benefit you other than battery life.
It still ramps up more quickly than kanthal. 8 wrap n80 24g dual coil at X watts will still ramp up more quickly than a 8 24g wrap dual kanthal coil at same X watts.
Sigh, I know, thanks. But it will have far less resistance than its kanthal couterpart, thus allowing for faster ramp up time, better battery life, etc.
