Minimum Wiring Gauge?

Is there a minimum gauge to the copper wire you're using for a DIY altoid box mod? Or any box mod infact.

Let's say comparing: [1 x 16850] vs [2 x 16850 (parallel)] vs [2 x 16850 (series)]

With vaping we are interested in getting the most current through our circuits. One can use flowing water as an analogy for electrical current. By using the shortest runs of the thickest gauge reasonable, you restrict the current the least, much as if the wire is plumbing for water. A commercial cig-a-like will use 30 or 32G wire, and a decent mod will use 18 or 20G. I personally prefer the equivalent of 18G solid core, and keep lengths down to less than an inch for a regulated mod. If you can fit beefier wire, then all the better.

Most decently built unregulated boxmods use 14 AWG. 12 is a bit too big to fit in some 510 center pins, or that would be preferred.
This is for the main power wires, though, as signal wires (such as switch to MOSFET) carry very little current. I usually see 24-28 AWG on those
