I need help making sure what I have, are these all ( dont look at the switches ) PAPs 2.5 tubes? I thought they were but the alum-bronze has an engraved logo. I know there was a 2.1 , are the SS ones 2.1s ?

BTW, if anyone would like to trade the switch on the left for one like the other 2 :)

So somewhere out there, there are SS tubes with the same engraving as the alumnibronze?

The GP Paps v2.5 LUX was the first Paps that had deep engravings (earlier versions and the subsequent v2.5 SS were laser engraved). The GP Paps v3 was the first SS Paps that has deep engravings and then all that followed. I'll have to look when I get home, and I know that we've talked about this in PMs, but I can only differentiate a v2.1 and v2.5 tube from the finish and comparing the color of the laser engraving (and I would have guessed that you have v2.5 tubes).

Thats what I thought but I saw a few photos somewhere and the person was saying that the deep engraving was the 2.5 and the others were the 2.1. I thought that was wrong, but I get easily confused.

I know the switch used to be different on the 2.1. What ever I have, I love.

I just compared my v2.1 and v2.5 tubes. From what I can tell, the vent holes on the v2.5 are beveled as shown in your picture whereas the v2.1 vent holes are not. My guess is that you have v2.5 tubes.

Yes, there is. The Paps v2.5 has the same CNC logo as the Lux v2.5. I have both from the first day of their sales.

The GP Paps v2.5 SS did not have CNC engravings, it was laser engraved. You can confirm this on the product page and from the Vapourday announcement from the first day of sales for the GP Paps v2.5 SS (and the third batch of the GP Paps v2.5 LUX since it was released first) - note that it states that the v2.5 LUX has a CNC engraved logo and the v2.5 SS has a laser engraved logo:

A new batch of 18500 & 18650 LUX tubes will be ready in 20 days again.

The GP PAPS® v2.5 SS edition has certified European 316 SS tube, laser engraved logo, old numbering, top and bottom caps from certified European 316 SS, brass button and holding nut and brass telescopic centre post.SS 18500, 18650 & 1800 tubes will be available only v2.1 certified European 304 SS with polished finish. I have a question......I bought a Paps v3 alumbronze with all 3 tubes awhile back. The 350 and 650 tube were still in the wrapper and never used so I decided to go 650 tonite and notice that the 650 tube had holes around the bottom and the 500 and 350 tubes do not....Is this a v3Paps tube? If so or if not, the topcap and switch fit perfectly...Is it OK to use if it is an earlier model? Or maybe the 650 needed extra venting...just curious!

The GP Paps v3 18500 tube was serialized. Prior versions had 18350 serialized tubes. With the Paps v4 the serial number moved to the switch housing. The Paps v3 switch and later has venting and the v3 tubes are solid and engraved with the Heron logo. The tubes of the v2.5 and earlier versions have vent holes and only the GP logo. Your 18650 tube is v2.5 LUX. Is your 18350 LUX tube serialized with vent holes (v2.5) or is it solid with a Heron logo (v3)?

You should feel comfortable using a Paps v3 or v4 switch with either solid tubes or those with vent holes.

I allso needed to be helped in how to remove the v4 switch so I can use on another tube, I recall seeing someone doing it a easy way and a hard way. Please help!

Take a look at the product description page, both ways are mentioned there. The hard way is described in the video reference guide for the Paps v4, you just unscrew the negative post with a long screwdriver.

The easy way, lock the button and keep turning the locking ring counterclockwise while you push with the index finger the button.

I confirm what Firestorm wrote above. Yours is a v2.5 Aluminium bronze tube not a v3. It is a very rare tube today.

It is solid. I also have a serialized v2.5 350 Lux that is serialized but it has the older version cap and switch which makes sense. I think the seller had the new unwrapped tube that was never open and didnt realize that it was a v2.5 tube. I am happy and and using the v3 topcap and switch and it is working fine!!
Thanks for your help!
