You tell me. Looks like you set the saturation pretty high. Apparently I hit a nerve saying torching was cheating. Sorry.

Here's some 3 core 26n80 fused with 36n80 flattened. They are a lot harder then they look to make.

I actually didn't edit the pics. The only thing I did was put my insta handle on one of them. I colored them in the atty, it's not extra saturation, they're literally that blue. Colors came out great. these are the edited versions for more color.

But the first two pics I posted were unedited, except for my name in the second one. Couldn't set the saturation because I'm using an iPhone with a clip, not a DSLR. I set the ISO to auto as well. You didn't strike a nerve I just wanted to see if you could tell the difference
And @CrazyChef yeah flattened with a hammer.

Yeah man, my block hammer looks almost exactly like this.

You can find some awesome applications for this while building coils. Even flattened fused claptons are really pretty.

This is my first attempt at a caterpillar track coil and even though it doesn't look like some of the amazing coils here I am really suprised how well this works. I'm getting a block of steel and a jewlers hammer to make my coils much nicer. The first photo is before I fired and pinched and second is right before it got wicked up.

@CrazyChef Those are 2 great tools for flattening. Super's hammer is way nicer than mine, with a bigger front face. The one I use is closer to a small ball pien hammer, exactly like this one:

I got mine at Michaels (you can get them at an AC Moore too), using the coupons they always have online. Got 50% off each the 4"x4" jewelers block & hammer, the block came out to $14.49 with coupon & hammer was $3ish.

I grabbed the AllianceV2 which I'm blown away by. It comes with a huge TM's style deck with 3mm post holes, 4 different airflow caps, 2 afc rings, an extension cap, and top and bottom heat sinks( bottom doubles as a hybrid cap). A pack of cotton bacon and 18" of omega wire nichrome90. Not a typo NI90.
So my first build is a dual interlock alien.
2x24g / 36g alien LVN80

Giving my mech the day off. Clocked in at .09 ohms.

Does anyone know of a cheap way or cheap camera setup to take macro shots. I'm sick of using the iPhone and would like to look at my progress as my building gets better. And I love those last couple builds, I hope those are in my future lol.

Same here. iPhone and a $3.46 camera clip off amazon. @Rockwell222 you could get something like an olloclip or a nicer spectrum phone camera lens, but I've found they're all pretty similar and to have it directly on the phone ready to upload anywhere and edit anywhere is better than a camera to me. But not the DSLR's with Bluetooth and wifi built in that send your pics to your phone. Those > all.

It's based off a snake belly. But hammered completely flat so the 3 26g cores are parallel like an alien.
