Hey, new the rebuilding here but getting the hang of it!

I usually clean my dismantled tank by soaking it in boiled for 15min water once a week or so, this time I also put the base and mounted coil (without cotton) in the water too but the coil looked a bit brown when after I let it dry, is it possible it rusted? Would I have to take the coil off before soaking the base?

I rinse because I most likely want to get the gunk out and change the flavor. I also brush off any residue with a soft brush because no one wants to inhale unknown residue of anything.

I guess I like clean gear. I rinse and dry burn and brush even if Im using the same flavor because I believe that the better I maintain my gear the longer it will serve me well. I tend to use the same things for years.

But Im okay being a weirdo and nut.
