Hey guys, i am new to this forum.

i recently just build a series box mod in an alpinetech1590g. it is my third box mod, and i decided to include two switches ( on/off and voltmeter + led switch ) i am very sure i wired in series but my voltmeter readings is only 4.2v instead of 8.4v ! it seems like it is only reading from one battery !

i need help guys !

Also bad planning, my switch now is not able to be fitted flush, any ideas on how i can go around with the switch in terms of covering it or what not, dont want it to cause a short as well.

Yep, Mike is right. The voltmeter is connected wrong.

As a hint for drawing a schematic; if 2 wires cross, but are connected together, make a dot at the intersection. If they're just crossing (but not connected) just leave out the dot.

(And a schematic doesn't need to correspond to the physical layout, although I know sometimes it's easier to think about if you draw it like it is physically laid out).

Trust me my hand drawn stuff is no better, but it was legible and easy to follow, took me all of 5 seconds to realize what was going on.

I like using programs like eagle kicad for electronics stuff, what was wrong took me about 4 seconds to spot. Lots of videos on how to use them online and the learning curve is a vertical cliff.
