I believe there has been some discussion of a patina resistant
finish for the copper. Any further thoughts on that??

I haven't heard of a finish yet, that the oils in your hand don't wear off over time.
Hope someone can fill us in ... it's probably just upkeep maintenance, and re-doing ... forever !
One could always have copper electroplated with silver or gold.

Look for electroplating services in your area. If you know a jewler he/she could probably steer you in a good direction. I found this one on Google in Nashville that does gold, but have no clue about the business personally. Got to get back to work now.Tell me more.....please!

If you bought some round stock of sufficient diameter enough to make 8-32 screws from scratch, you'd get a lot more swarf.Speaking of silver.........
