Nicotine In Vegetables: 20 Pounds Of Eggplant Equivalent To 1 Cigarette

Youve probably all researched Eggplant, Cauliflower, Tomotoes et.al. having certain levels
of Nicoline, which if you'd won the county fair's "pig out on this veggie" eating contest,
might (or not) equal being exposed to second hand smoke.
None of this is relevant to vaping.
Its all nonsensical distractions.
However, I'm in Hawaii, possibly the worst of all 50 US states for over regulating not just vaping, and smoking, but well everything.
Two nights ago I attended an outdoor concert, on the Pacific Ocean, and smack dab in the middle of the big thing!....SO every time I reached for my PV, someone reminded me- "You might be asked not to do that".
Its so nice to know my fellow citizens are worried about me.:sneaky:
So nice to know they're all sub agents of government enforcement to assure Im aware of the laws which ban all smoking and vaping in any out door park, beach, street, public place.
So my few stealth Vapes, wafted out into the mid pacific unnoticed for the most part.
Ques or Lines for Beer, for wine, for foods (full of who knows what; probably not cauliflower, eggplant or tomatoe) were steady all night.
ANYONE could buy, and openly enjoy any amount of alcohol and food their hearts desired.

I wish , just once, in the course of an evening, in a gathering of a few hundred souls, just
one individual might've said- "right on, I support vaping".
In reality, I felt once again I was a leper, much the way I felt Cig smokers are treated.
:2c:
Cheers...

I remember when I quit cigarettes. I was so proud of myself. Unfortunately, my elation was dulled by comments such as when are going to stop "that"? Back in 2014 a lot of people didn't know what i was doing so i was ignored. Two years later i am being told that those are as bad as cigarettes. You should just quit. I, like you, feel the wrath and disgust by some people. Just like i did when I smoked the real thing. My bubble of feeling proud after 46 years of failure to quit - burst. Makes me sad.

Haters gonna hate. Personally, I ignore them.

Well Rossum, Hawaii (unlike Asia & EU) does enforce their little laws that feed the till. In outdoors venues, you're asked to leave (private prop), public spaces (mainly full of teems playing pokemanGo) are heavily patrolled and yes they do write tickets. So I personally am mouth to lung, tootle puffer, expert at stealth vape. I have no other choices in the states. Parking lots for example, its enforced exactly the same as cigarettes- 20feet from any public entry way. Vapers are as despised as smokers.

I have to admit, it's been 9 years since I've been to the 50th state -- I was on the Big Island for a month in 2007. The 20' nonsense was new then, and it wasn't being enforced at all (at least on the Big Island). Still, the fact that the state had passed such a law was one of the factors in our decision not to buy a vacation / eventual retirement place there.

Its one of those, "lets shove a healthy lifestyle down your throats" places...big $$ for IronMan Triathalons, Marathons, Surfing$$ (now...we were all hated hippies 40 years ago)....and imho- some of those adrenaline junkies need help!
I have struggled over the years on all islands to help find accommodations for smokers, even pipes, cigars (almost impossible)...and the 21yrs just makes me BOIL
The 50th state has a HUGE military presence....in fact you cant drive across the island on Oahu to get anywhere without
getting caught in a huge convoy= so the anger here is that we've supported some of the largest infantry, Marine and Naval divisions in the nation, trained them to go die at 18 years old....but after carrying their best buddies' remains back from the field to the base- we wont allow them to light up or VAPE, or god forbid have a beer/ale:-x

@2&3 years back there were 16 bills before the legislature against vaping.
I mostly buy online in the US (proVape) or local B&M in Hawaii because I want to keep them alive and in business!!
Cheers...(sorry for the rant)....but its so similar in parts of the EU, I want to barf...
the Netherlands are bad too so I have to say sometimes its just nice to hang in Asia with smokers, drinkers and
hucksters....
Cheers

...when are going to stop "that"?

I got that question just two days ago from my next door neighbor.

What followed was a history of MSAs, recent studies and an oral essay on protected interests and collusion. I probably won't get that question again. :D

"Well, if someone DID ask me not to do that, I'd tell them to :censored: OFF!"
The other day, I was paying for my food at Panda Express. At the end of the monetary portion of the transaction, I asked for a few packets of soy sauce as I picked up my tray.

The female customer behind me, whom I didn't know and had never met before, says: "You know, that is very high in sodium, you shouldn't use it."

My response was "Why don't you just mind your own business..." followed by Rossum's suggestion. :)

She didn't like that much. Oh well, serves her right for butting into my business.

THIS is the world we live is now, folks. Everybody has to be involved in what you eat, drink, smoke, or vape. We're living the "it takes a village" mentality, where the village needs to help everybody live a (perceived) better life. No longer is the individual able to make their own decisions on what they put into the bodies or what they enjoy, EVERYBODY has a say and an opinion.

My theory is, the more often such people are told to :censored: off, the more quickly they will get the idea that sticking their nose in other people's business is not socially acceptable.

:lol: What was she doing eating at Panda Express if she was so concerned about what's healthful to eat or not? Friggin' people.

I honestly don't understand why some people don't get this.

Unfortunately, at 6'5" nobody ever says squat to me...
So I don't ever get to tell them what's up...

Strange how that works I guess.

Currently I don't get much flak from people in my town (Reno, Nevada). I guess that is because of the casino culture where they have "smoke fee" areas in casinos but still lots of analog smokers there. There are, however, places that don't allow vaping in particular & they are are few & far between. Pretty laid back here. I have never been told not to vape. If the venue or restaurant has an outdoor area basically anything goes. Glad I live here!

Just got back from a trip to Maui and found that Vapers are definitely hated as much as Smokers all over the island. The car rental place made a point of telling us that there was no vaping or smoking in the vehicle lest we incur a $250 fine to clean out the smell.

My group attended a Luau at the Royal Lahaina and after stealth vaping in the crowd, I decided to get away from everyone to a secluded spot where I could openly vape in hopes of not offending anyone. One of the Nic-o-Nazis spotted me and ran over to like like I was starting a grass-hut fire. "You will have to stop that immediately or leave the property. We really don't even want you possessing that while on our property."

Our condo staff informed us that they had installed anti-vaping sensors to protect visitors from the scourge that is vaping. Since I tootle-puff, we had no issues but a cloud-chaser set off the alarm at 5am on our second day and caused the evacuation of the entire complex. That was according to one of the office clerks at the resort. Thank goodness it wasn't anyone in our party. Brew

At 6'4", I don't get to preach the vaping gospel very much either ... :(

My theory is that do-gooders and brittle people tend to look down on everyone around them, so they never see the cloud cover I'm providing ...

I am vaping for almost 9 years and don't intend to stop vaping, so my answer on irritating comments goes like this:
"Methadone is a substitute for ...(<--censored, but you know). Would you like to forbid methadone as well? "
(while I nearly have to cry by all those stupid comments)

In earlier days I answered that my e-cig did not contain nicotine... but then they asked: "Then why don't you stop smoking?" :-x

The average human being is ignorant on any number of subjects...
But a large fraction of them are also stupid.

You can only tell the difference by explaining things to them...
And then waiting to see what happens.
