:/

Parts of the study were more reassuring than others, finding that the greater number of negative effects on our dna disappear within about five years of quitting cigarettes, however some results were devastating finding that in 19 genes, including the TIAM2 gene linked to Lymphoma, the effects lasted up to 30 years.

Wow, oh wow! This article is fantastic and calls the situation like it really is.

"This study highlighted once again the importance of having effective smoking cessation aids readily available encouraging smokers to quit, and is published at a time where certain regulators such as the FDA are doing anything they can to tighten their straps by enforcing heavy regulations which make it close to impossible for smokers to have access to e-cigarettes. This is tragic as numerous studies have found vaping to be a much safer alternative to smoking, and the most effective smoking cessation method."

Smoking does not alter our genetic code. The genes they refer too affect
mostly our immune system. These genes are either active(responding to
a bacterial or viral exposure) or inactive(no bacterial or viral exposure).
Cigarette smoke by its very nature is antibacterial. It makes sense that these
genes would be inactive. Apperently though they must work as intended
because if they didn't one would die of infection as soon as one quit smoking
or from a simple cut while smoking.
It is interesting to note that the TIAM2 gene linked to Lymphoma is mentioned
yet smoking or quitting smoking is not listed as a cause of Lymphoma.
(note:most all of the genes they refer to are in the nasal and airway cavities.
That is why vaping causes these same genes to be inactive. PG/VG are
antibacterial and anti viral.)

Mike
