Is anyone here familiar with international shipping? I sold something for work that had to ship to Canada. I shipped it with UPS and a ebay discount. I weighed it, put in the weight and printed the label and documentation. The person that received it said that UPS charged them an additional $38 on top of the $38 I paid to ship it. I'm not sure why unless there was a customs fee.

We use a broker because we ship full skids or truckloads on a regular basis. I know we charge the customers a broker fee if we use our broker instead of their contract broker. Wouldn't surprise me if UPS was that expensive. You should be able to get an answer directly from the service number with the tracking info.

I don't know if the guy is mad or what but he won't respond to my questions. I considered doing a PayPal refund for half the extra charge but if he's going to be a jerk then forget about it. I'll have to look and see if he left feedback. I'm not accepting any more sales outside the US.

I found this calculator. Run the transaction in it and see what number you come up with. Beside duty taxes, they also collect sales tax, which I didn't find on the initial page I brought up. The taxes can add anywhere from 5-15% depending on province, the cost of doing business in a socialist system.

This has been a weird winter. No snow of any appreciable amount and we're 9 days till February and it's in the mid 40s. Midweek, we have a couple days in the 50s, just like last week. It seem like we're getting lucky with the weather patterns taking the heavier stuff to the east and south of us. Not going to complain though. Maybe it was siding and new roof. This house hasn't felt so tight since the day I bought it.

Our weather has been about the same. Mostly 40's and 50's for some time. Temps this week will be a little cooler in the 30's but still no snow in the forecast. I think between your home improvements and me finally getting my snowthrower running right that we've scared off the bad weather. I think my roof is ok. It's just about ten years now since it was replaced. I could probably use siding but can't afford it. I'm going to replace some trim this spring and keep saving so that hopefully by fall I've got enough to pay someone to paint it for me. After that I need a new 16' garage door. The bottom is starting to get a little mushy. That panel was replaced 5-6 years ago on the bottom but hasn't held up very well. I'm going to get a metal door when it's replaced.

I finally got a response from the ebay buyer. He just said it was a customs charge and asked me to go ahead and leave feedback for him. I never get that excited about feedback unless there has been an issue with the transaction. I think he's just trying to boost his rating on there.

I'm just waiting for a freak blizzard to make up for the lack of snow. I was thinking about going to 3rd shift last fall but decided to wait until spring simply because they don't plow the roads at 11pm. That probably added to the lack also heh.

Went to my sister in laws baby shower Saturday. Always nice to see her and the rest of the in laws, but her husbands family sucks. Obnoxious and aggressively cheap. Our side of the family all pitched in and bought all new crib, changing table, stroller/car seat combo and tons of clothes/miscellaneous stuff. His side grabbed hand-me-down clothes/Goodwill pacifiers/books with burp up on the pages etc. and talked trash about "rich people and their new stuff." They're the classic "I could have had a big house and Corvette if not for these kids" kind of people.

Perhaps, I'm not sure. I've got no problem with buying things from Goodwill, but it's their first child and we just wanted everything to be new. The next kid can have them as hand me downs haha.

On topic, Trump signed that executive order halting regulations, and says he dislikes regulations of most kinds. I wonder if that might pave the way to getting snus shipped cheaper or even more varieties here in the states. Would be pretty cool if it did.
