0.8ohms clapton coil on a mech is going to be a weak vape, no matter what mod. That is a lot of wire to heat up, and at 0.8ohms on a full battery at 4.2v is only 22 watts. You need about double the wattage in that size coil to get a decent vape.

If you get 1 year out of a ~$300 mod your still ahead of the game, even if the board is no longer available or repairable. People are ditching $1000 cell phones after 1 year. Household appliances that cost thousands no longer have parts available after the warranty runs out.

For about $20, it's a pretty good vape. Doesn't leak, holds 5ml or 2ml of juice, fairly easy to build.
