    Aw or 25r?

At the Level of 3000 mAh / 20A there are only 3 manufacturer (OEM´s): 1. LG HG2 2. Samsung INR18650-30Q 3. Sony VTC6 In some countries you are legaly not allowed to sell industrial batteries, because they are missing important Information for normal consumers. Brands like AW, Torchy and others...

    NiteCore New I4 (2016)

I am not electric-Ing., but as far as I know Li-Ion charging method is CC-CV. The TC that Xtar mention is relevant, when a battery is slightly deep discharged. The charger detect the voltage in the battery and Charge with lower current, till the battery reaches a certain Level of Voltage. Almost...

    NiteCore New I4 (2016)

I would not recomend any Charger that has an internal transformator and is not using a Power supply. The most problematic part in a charger in terms of safety is the part in which 110V are reduced to 12V, or 5V (in Europe 220V).

18650 charger with voltage cutoff under 4.2 volts?

Most of the old Budget chargers (Ultrafire, Surfire etc.) had a cut-off at 4,13V - 4,15V, because they had no Controller. In battery-packs the cut-off will be terminated by a PCB (Protection-Circuit-Board), or by BMS (Battery Management System). On a regulated Mode the voltage in the mode is...

Thanks Mooch. I think Xtar should concetrate on what they can do the best - Chargers

Battery Musing: Does charging your batteries slowly lead to a more complete charge?

I agree with Mooch and wanted to add just one small issue. If you Charge a battery with low current (up to 0,5C), you can use it directly after it has finished to Charge. Using high current (above 1C) will require a certain break (battery have to cool down). Mooch mentioned that high charging...

    Battery Paranoia

I think it would be very helpful, if we recommend at least 2-3 batteries and notonly 1. Sometime a certain battery is out-of-Stock, sometime is really expensive, because the availability at a certain time is low. I would add to the list the following batteries: 1. Samsung INR18650-30Q (pink...

    When to say when?

Hi Batitude, I would need some few days to give you a good answer, but regarding 18650...most probably you would be able to recognize the manufacturer according to its Plus-side. LG, Panasonic, Sanyo, Sony and SDI are using very often the same ventilation system in their batteries. Sony has f.e...

Wismec Avatar 30A 2000mAh ICR 18650 Bench Test Results...something suspicious is going on

Well it is enough to read: "after more than 1000 cycles, the power still remain 80%" :-x Those Marketing methodes belong to the past...or maybe we talk about eneloop Li-Ion?

    When to say when?

Some Information to AW and I hope I make myself no enemy. AW was a pioneer in offering Li-Ion batteries (mainly 18650) for LEd Flashlights with PCB (Protection Circuit Board). AW used to purchase the Li-Ion cells from Panasonic (mainly) and let them being assembled in China. At a Point, in which...

    LG HDC2 and LG HD4 18650 Comparison

Hi Ken, Thanks for your informative answer. I am using a VTC Mini at 15W maximum, therefore I was wondering if those boxes with 200 Watt, or even 250 Watt really are in a position to deliver?

    LG HDC2 and LG HD4 18650 Comparison

I have a question, that maybe sounds stupid, but I´ll try it and hope to get a serious answer - how do you really know, that if a manufacturer writes 250 Watt, the Box can really reach this energy? I have an old test from Germany in mind, where all tested boxes were around 10% - 15% away from...

    When to say when?

First In my comment you didn´t read any single Evaluation to AW batteries. AW was one of the first Brands for Li-Ion batteries - that is something you can´t take from them. But in the meanwhile there are few other good Brands like Keepower, EVVA and Orbtronics on the market and it is not like...

    When to say when?

Sawlight - Which researches do you mean? AW is not a manufacturer of batteries, AW is a rewraper of batteries. In the battery sizes of 18350 and 18500 you mentioned there is no manufacturer from the big 4 (Samsung, LG, Sony and Panasonic), that manufacturer High-Drain batteries in those sizes...

    When to say when?

A branded Li-Ion battery should hold 300 complete cycles up to 80% from the rated capacity. That is the theory. AW are using China batteries in those sizes (higher internal resistance). If a battery loses on power, it does not mean, that the risk of anything raises. The biggest risk I can...

On the market there are 3 batteries with 3500 mAh (well actually 3450 mAh): LG MJ1 Sanyo NCR18650GA Samsung INR18650-35E Non of them is for more than 10A CDR. Above 3000 mAh there is no battery on the market with CDR higher than 10A.

Samsung 25-R (smurf batteries) PULSE RATING?

I agree that using pulse as a Marketing Argument is wrong, however there is Information coming from Samsung SDI regarding Pulse time and Maximum Discharge current: 30A = 6 seconds 40A = 5 seconds 65A = 1 second
