The insert is wood it has been stabilized with resin there is no need to treat it if I make more I wont try to die them black . As you can see you can remove it if you work at it

If your going to blow it out with compressed air you would be all set but if your going to soak the mod I would remove the insert

From the looks of the leak its not coming from the mod but from over flow from the atty . it seeps in between the door

Taking a little break my friend got some home projects that need my attention and I need a nap
